Mustang Slowbra. Test drive impressions.

So I test drove a 2001 Cobra with some bolt-ons... full exhaust, etc.
Started it... the sound was pure sex. It sounded amazing, had the perfect exhaust setup.

First impression... it takes half an hour to shift gears, the shifter felt like I was driving a dump truck.

Then took it around some bends... It felt heavy, was all over the place... basically like a boat. After driving our Benz C-class, taking a corner in the Mustang felt like I went back in time about 30years. Honestly, my nose heavy turbo F22 Civic handles 10X better with no sway bars.


Next test was straight line acceleration...................................... ......................

The only slower cars that I've driven in my life were a stock F22A1 Accord, and a Tercel.

It is rated at 317 torque... is this a joke?
It was embarrassing to try to accelerate because it makes a lot of noise but doesn't go anywhere.

I know it wasn't the 03-04 Cobra, but still 320hp?...

I just don't get all the hype about them and all the hate on Civics and imports in general.

Looks like the Cobra is a cheap piece of junk that needs lots of money thrown at it before it can even run with an rsx-s for example.

Any cobra that doesn't walk an RSX S is broken. My dakota walks RSX type s all day.

It was just nothing I was expecting from a Cobra..

It looks and sounds like it can take on anything.... but it BARELY gets out of its own way.

Hell I could remove the wastegate spring from my Civic so I don't have any boost at all and still rape that Cobra. From a dig or a roll, doesn't matter.

Not really was that mustang run down? most heavy cars with that rated hp really isnt going to pickup as quick as a lighter car with less hp. Theres hype to cars on both sides of every story.

How you see that side of it dont let the eople who favor what kind of car sway you like honda is better than this car. its all the same shit whoever puts in the most money in that car will that argument when it comes to investments. On the other hand you gotta look at it like this when your fast there will always be someone faster.

i was just talking the LS platform, im not trying to ride dicks but high 12's with bolt on's and a good launch.

my buddy has a 99 with bolt ons and on a soft launch he dialed in a 13.6

comparing the mustang, challenger, and mustang they said the mustang was the best when clearly the camaro is
