Alright I know that there was a thread dedicated to ford haters but... and I know domestic cars don't run as well as the imports.

But out of curiosity, If given a choice what domestic car would you get and mod. Oh and why?

im looking for an older 65-mid 70's muscle car to build. Other than that, i would love to own a cadillac cts-v... cts's are nice, put in the ls6 and 6 speed. Those things are killers.

1970 Chevelle SS LS-6.

One of the pinnacles of the muscle car era.

450 hp from the factory. All it needed was a high rise intake mani and you're looking at 500+. Plus it just looked oh so sessi.

I gotta agree with r0ger. The cobalt is nice looking. but for me personally. I would get a sunfire or cavelier and drop in the ls 6

No offense but Chrysler can't make a decent car for shit..falls apart after a year or so of owning.

I'd have to go with Mike on this one a Chevelle SS those things are badass..my mom had a stock Chevell was I was alot younger (age 3-4) she bought it from an old lady for 100 dollars back in the 80s but later burned the motors headgasket out.

The most rare and probably most sought after is the AMC AMX..I saw one in person a couple years ago and they're a hard find now a days.

Oh and I can't forget the Buick GSX

yeah, i had one (not an srt though, they weren't out yet)...but it was ok.

i was gonna try to get an Srt engine, or just boost the stock one. but i sold it eventually.

but i totally agree, if i couldnt get an import, i would get an neon SRT-4.

i like the cb7 way more though(even thogh the cb7 is about 8-9 years older and had about 140k miles more when i bought it!)

um...i thought we were talkin about modern cars, not classics.

in that case i would love an older camaro, or charger. the 67 mustang was dope. old school impalas (67) were hot.
a new dodge viper, corvette, the new cadillac sts-v (550 hp w00t!)

but i thought we were talkin about cars we could afford, or dont have to spend years to restore just to garage them, lol.

That doesnt' specify cost and or time.

If I had a choice, I would buy and mod a 1970 Chevelle SS LS-6. And actually once I get out of school, with 3 years of saving, I bet I could buy such a car.

There are no current (past 3 years) that interest me enough. Sure I like the 80's Turbo Buicks, and such, but if I went domestic, it would be all about the Cubes.
