i wasnt there. i was working. but it's bullshit. and very wrong of them.

heres a little history for those of you who dont know my fair city. the city of Staunton has it out for teenagers. theyve shut down all of our music venues and the cops harass the teenagers like nobody's business.

they came to the vigil...idk why, but i doubt it was from complaints, because there are always kids in the streets. that 15 year old girl they threw in the car, is pregnant(yea i know, she shouldnt be prego, but still). things just got out of hand because the cops were on a power trip.

so fuck the cops for hatin' for no reason.

I will say this time and again, there are always these threads of "f**k the police" and they always get closed or deleted. As the OP said he wasn't there, so we don't know what went down, all we see is the article. So I will keep this open for those to read the article because it is interesting, but I will say that it WON'T become a "f**k the police" thread because it will be closed. Just a warning.

Your best bet when shit happens like that you get a bunch of people and some old folks to complain once you get the badge number of that cop and call it in and get a file number and report him.

When you report a fucked up cop or a group of fucked up cops the higher ups like the mayor and captains and commisioners start looking in. And they dont want people getting them voted out.

So until you complain or start complaining getting badge numbers and file cases with there osis number and call it in thats what your going to keep deeling with until you do. So remember when they start their bullshit dont say anything to them keep a logbook with you and as soon as they start with their bullshit write it down the car they are driving what time it happened and why and call it in right then and there then theyll stop messing with you.

You say you don't know why they came to the vigil. It clearly says they came because "a resident trying to get through the park was blocked by some of the kids." This resident called the cops. Now you know why they came.


It's a public park, city property. Therefore the police have the authority to tell someone to leave. When people (in this example a crowd of 100 young teens) refuse, Officers have to do things to get compliance.


My point, sucks their vigil had to end like that. Im sure if they were respectful and stayed out of the street or whatever it was they did to block cars, everything would have ended much nicer. For you to say they were "hatin' for no reason" is ignorant, because they were only doing their job.


Kids exaggerate things like no tomorrow, we've all been in high school. Take it with a grain of salt.

Alot of things get taken out of hand when the cops go over the edge or when people get out of hand. but if you are in a spot when they tell you to leave just leave and come back later after shits calmed down or relocate thats all.

You ever watched an episode of COPS? You know how the cops show up to people fighting/being disruptive, etc etc, tell one or all of them to leave, and 3 hours later (real time) still the same episode, the cops show back up and end up arresting the folks they originally told to leave, because they were stupid enough to come back? Yeah.

I agree with Sparkle, If you have a problem with a cop REPORT him or shut up! If you have time for a "I hate cops" thread then you have time to write down (or remember) the cops badge number and do what you have to to get something done. If everyone did that to a cop that actually was in the wrong, shit would be done about it.

Oh and it have nothing to do with an accord, I have never stopped and look at my car. Slammed and my rear tail lights got some cops iffy, but I drive straight and obey the law, no problem yet.

Well, a public park is not a place a police officer can tell you to leave unless you are doing something illegal. This brings me to my point that the article says this was an unlawful assembly, my bet is no one at this vigil took the time to go to the city hall and obtain the free permit to assemble. If they didn't have the permit the cops could have asked the kids to leave at any time even if they were peaceful. My guess is that the kids weren't as innocent as they say they were once the cops showed up. I bet there were at least a few who ran their mouths off and then made it a hell of a lot worse for the rest of the kids there who would have just left when asked. I hate when people jump to conclusions while only hearing one side of the story.

what i clearly did not stress here when i originally posted was that the cops of this town have been harrasing the younger population and this just threw it over the top. not a single one of you know the situation here and wouldnt understand what i mean, so with all due respect you can shut it.

the point of bringing this up was that a young man died and to show respect for him they held a vigil in his honor. The father of Jason called city council and got permission to hold the vigil at the skatepark before assembling there.

Now from what i understand the kids did move out of the street without complaining, what started the whole mess was when Jasons brother saw the cops and started to get angry and yell at the cops.
