        It is NOT the same engine. It is not a Mitsubishi engine.
        It's a variant of the World Engine built by Hyundai, Mitshubishi, and Daimler-Chrysler. I believe they all share a similar bottom end, with heads designed by each company. The internals, of course, are different. The Evo's internals are superior to the Genesis's internals (and rightfully so... it costs twice as much).

        If you can say the Hyundai has a Mitsubishi engine, it's just as fair to say the EvoX and Caliber SRT-4 have Hyundai engines.

            I think any way you slice it... Pretty much anything you decide to get will be newer, faster or easier to get more power out of, and more then likely classier. Don't get me wrong, I still love CB's as much as anyone, but when it comes down to it... It's almost 20 years old (or already is),and it was built with economy and comfort in mind and it did a damn good job of that lol.

                  The CB has more potential than just about any other car in the same class that was available at the time... but yes, technology has come a LONG way.

                  People talk about the 210hp Genesis Coupe like it's a slouch. It's not all that weak... and it's made to be upgraded. I'm QUITE certain that Hyundai took a cue from Nissan for this car. The 4 cylinder is supposed to appeal to people that would want a Silvia (a demand that exists in the US, and was never filled with a turbo model), and the 6 cylinder is a competitor to the Z.

                  Really, the V6 Genesis Coupe pales in comparison to the 370Z... considerably. It would've been a better competitor to the 350Z.


                  Honestly, for the price... I'd probably get the 4 cylinder, if I wanted a new car to modify. The V6 price is far too close to the 370Z, and WRX (which is apparently a ridiculous car now...)

                      He's looking at about $22,000 to spend on a NEW car... I don't think there's extra money lying around to buy used and upgrade.

                      Fully building the CB7 would take time, money, and potentially be unreliable. The more you modify, the more you risk going wrong.

                      Either give up the CB7 and put your money into a new car you can trust... or buy something cheaper to drive while you make the CB7 a project car.

                        350 to the crank for a 370z interesting i ran one and it well sounded good but all i heard was my loud ass exhaust when i passed him. You should get a salvaged car and fix that up. I had one in mind but i dont have the time. My boy brought himself a lexus isf and hes having his dad fix it. In the end if its worth it and hey atleast you wont have a car not like i did. Thankgod thats over.

                          Ahh I see, a v-6 Genesis coupe would be $35,000 starting price in Canada. I thought he had a bigger budget to work with.

                            interesting...22k for a 370 really? I figured it'd be more around 35-40k for a 370 but I haven't priced one.

                            and not buying the FIRST model is a very very very good point. The first couple years have all the problems with the last year of the body style and maybe the second to last year even. Every car is like this.
