I got an enrollment allocation for summer field training at Maxwell AFB for AFROTC.

I don't want to shout to the highest all over facebook because a lot of people did not get EA's this year.

Normally AF allows for about 2400, this year there were only 2170 nationwide.

Yeah, probably should have explained a bit more.

I am in Air Force ROTC in college. It is a path to commissioning in the Air Force. Once you graduate you become a 2nd Lieutenant and are placed on active duty. I got a slot for summer field training which is required to continue with the program. It is kinda like basic training for enlisted folks. But it is only 28 days long.
Plus once I get back I will be contracted with the USAF and they will start paying me $450/month stipend to be in school.

Grats! I commissioned through AFROTC about 6 months ago and am now in snowy spokane, Washington on my first duty assignment.

You'll have fun at field training. Although really its more like "The most fun you never want to have again". Things to remember about Maxwell:

1. Hot as balls there, and muggy to boot
2. Theres a paper mill just off base and yes it smells like ass every morning
3. The area just outside of Maxwell (not that you'll see it too much...) is very ghetto-ish.
4. Gunter annex is way cooler than Maxwell, IMHO. You'll go to Gunter for like a week I think.
5. Give yourself more time to pack than the day before you leave, else your life will be hell.
6. Actually READ your FTM beforehand, but don't be surprised if you have it memorized by the time you go home.
7. 90 degree angle (you'll understand once you get there!)
8. T.I. 's are serious business

4 weeks basic sounds easy, why so short, hell even the Army is 9. So your not enlisted at the time? Just in the AFROTC program.

I'm not in the air force, but me and Rob_is_legend are both in the Montgomery area and yes it is hot as balls hot as balls hot as balls in the summer and like 90% humidity.
