                    I remember seeing pics of the Splinter last year. The thing is just plain nuts. I wouldn't trust my life at 240 to wooden suspension components.

                      WING/MUFFLER
                      A twin-supercharged V8 makes a lot of horsepower. Along with this power comes a lot of heat. Wood isn't particularly fond of excessive heat, so we wanted to keep the engine heat off the wood as much as possible. In an attempt to quickly remove the heat from the engine bay, we decided to run the exhaust out of the top of the engine by reversing the flow of the cylinder heads. From there, we realized that we could also put the muffler and its heat outside by letting it serve double duty as the wing. Just don't lean on the wing after turning in hot laps; your arm might stick to it, and that just isn't cool.
