this has been around for a very very long time now.

definitely a good DIY-LoJack type system.

Hardwire the phone's charger into the vehicle battery, hide the thing very well, and you'll foil any thieve's shady plan and hopefully get them locked the fuck up!!!!

beats gettin your car stolen if you have a ton of mods to it.
you say fuck it, but really, should be worth it in the long run.

                    if it works correctly.

well yeah if you have a car that's heavily and expensibly modded. i wouldn't do it to my beater though...

if it really is .35 cents a day, it isn't bad at all...

but still free is always better ^_^

but these days you can't get shit for free

btw!! i just tested this application on my droid..and you can download the application for any iphone or android phone from the actual cellphone. and it works pretty damn good. the online page displays a map like "google maps" of your location along with coordinates, time, date, speed, ect...works pretttty good..still have to test it while i drive or w/e..

and another thing..wouldn't having the phone wired to your car battery, drain your car battery? kinda defeats the purpose

No, because when the car is off its not charging, unless you have it hooked up to charge constantly.

If you wire it to 12 volt constant it would. Plus, what happens when you go on a vacation for a week and then somebody steals your car by towing it? The car has not been on, and the cell phone battery sure as hell is not going to last that long.

You'd just have to check the location online and make sure the car hasn't moved.

And what if thieves steal and/or disconnect your battery? After seeing shit like this, that'd be the first thing id start doing.

Is this thread in leiu of Omar's recent happening..?

Also, as mentioned, some phones will lose signal in certain areas or building, etc.
