A California man killed in a shootout with Pentagon police
In these hard times, with the economy the way it is, this is just the beginning. My dad keeps bugging me to buy an assortment of handguns to protect myself from this kind of crap. We the general public try to ignore the state of the economy, myself included, and pretend like everthing is gonna be ok over time, but unfortunately I think everything is going to get pretty bad. The government is printing money to make more available, and there's no gold or anything to back it up except for the fact that WE still believe a dollor bill is worth a dollar. I can only hope that my dad is wrong...Sadly, in the back of my mind I think he is right. It's gonna get much, much worse.
This shooting wasn't related to the economy, I don't think. I think the guy was just mentally unstable.
That being said, it never hurts to be prepared for a disaster. I don't THINK the US population will fall into chaos due to the economy. I do believe that there will be another natural disaster like LA or Katrina.

The economy is suffering, but it's not anywhere near as bad as it could be. When a large portion of our population is living in hovels, unwashed, diseased, and desperate for food and clean water, THEN it's a disaster. Now, it's just a difficult time. Yes, lots of people can't pay the mortgage on their $350,000 home... that's not a disaster.
Is there corruption in our government? ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY. Any government designed and run by human beings will involve corruption. It can't be helped. Is it to the level of orchestrating large scale terrorist attacks? That's highly unlikely. Whatever someone in the government might be looking to cover up, orchestrating a terrorist attack on the US is NOT the way to draw attention away from it! If you're smuggling drugs into the country, being the one to organize an attack like 9/11 is considerably worse! That's like killing your friend because he saw you steal a candy bar.
It's sad that people get so passionate about these conspiracy theories that they feel the need to act on them. They're just theories. Some may have more merit than others, and some MIGHT actually be onto something... but they're theories. That's all.
Seriously, if any of them got anywhere near being correct, they'd be covered up. If someone orchestrated 9/11 to hide something, shutting up a few websites is NOT that difficult! IF there is some sort of conspiracy going on, those involved are allowing the current theories to exist, probably because they're so incredibly off target!
I wonder what this guy planned on accomplishing. He obviously didn't know how to use the weapons that he was carrying, seeing as he got the jump on the guards, and didn't even do serious damage. Even if he killed the guards, then what? Who is he aiming for? The head of the conspiracy? He'd have had to kill a lot of innocent people to reach that unknown person... Based on what? Ill-founded beliefs, twisted by the words of others? Insane groupthink? 72 virgins in heaven for killing the infidels? Oh, wait... that's the wrong type of terrorist... I got confused for a second there...
Look how many things in the past have been proven to be the Governments doing though. People just don't look into it for themselves, or they say "well the government has learned, they will never do something like that again". Then 50 years later something else happens, and they say the exact same thing.
My mom got mugged by a black guy once... he was a bad man who committed an evil deed. Doesn't mean it applies to all black guys.
If 50 years ago politicians did something despicable, it doesn't mean that the ones today are going to do the same thing.
Could they? Sure. Could 9/11 have been an inside job? It's possible. Very unlikely, and no conspiracy theorist that spends his time reading propaganda is going to uncover it. They look for connections, and tie the ones that support their arguments conveniently to their "research". But I won't deny the possibility. Corruption exists, and there are plenty of men with lots of power...
Also, lots of things that these videos proclaim as "proven" are just theories that have been thrown around and accepted by other fanatics over the years. Research their facts and see for yourself how many are straight.
People that naively trust the government are no different than people that naively trust conspiracy theories. People on either side are not educated enough on the overall picture to truly understand what they're talking about.
To be quite honest, it is our duty as American citizens to understand our government. We put those people in power, we call the shots. If they're pulling the wool over our eyes, it's our own ignorant fault for allowing it to happen. The government is not some unstoppable evil juggernaut that emerged from the gates of hell. It is something that the American people have put in place... and something that only allows corruption when those people are too ignorant to prevent it from happening.
That's what I hate about these conspiracy theories and propaganda... they're not educating anyone, they're trying to rally the ignorant masses by playing on their ignorance.
Teach the people how this country SHOULD run, and how they have the power to make it run that way. Rather than shouting at the devil, give them the tools necessary to identify what they want, and the tools necessary to make the changes they need to get it.

Take out the word black and you are left with this. Human. Humans always have and always will do bad and evil deeds. Humans in the position of power, even more so. It comes down to greed. For every bad deed done, the bad deed doer gains something.
