Tipping The PIZZA GUY?

aw man, that does suck, you have no idea how we drivers complain about that delivery charge and how most people think that is an automated tip for us drivers, but its not, at most we get $1 per run out of that or some places its a percent commission but doesnt really amount to much at all...
just realize most drivers earn around $5 or $6 an hour for the wage and rely on tips to make a decent pay and to pay for gas and wear and tear and insurance and things like that, once you deduct the cost of doing this job you end up earning around $8 to $9 an hour at most some places earn more
just place yourself in our shoes....
at the job you work you want to earn as much as you can right?

i was doing ok in kentucky before i moved up here with my girl
the economy sucks here right now and its tough
just glad to have a job in this state

there are 100,000 's of people here with out work

so yea at times i complain about the tips and things but in the end jus glad to be able to have work

well march turned out to be a good month for me i made 1145 in tips and 1105 in wage minus the 271.77 i spent for gas a total of 1978.23 for 22 days of work averages to 89.92 a day

do you only deliver to get those hours b/c about 13 hours out of the 38-39 hours a week i am actually making pizzas and not taking them.

so roughly 25 hours a week gets me my tips and i get paid 7.50 an hour to deliver

thats total hours...

during the day shifts i only average 2 to 5 at most...

during the night shifts when i close i average 7 to 14...

I just tipped the pizza guy $2. Dominos. It said it was out for delivery at 3:57pm, and I got it at 4:15pm. I asked the driver if there's a reason why it took over 15 minutes to get to me, and he said "no reason".

Of course, my pizza is hot... so it may not be his fault. I feel bad.

are you only like five minutes from there or something b/c if you are then the only reason i can think it taking him that long is if he had another delivery right by yours that he had to go to first b/c it was older

other than that he may have been dicking around and getting food or gas but he should be doing that after giving you your pizza

For real though, I don't think the online thing for dominos is accurate at all. I think it's just on a set timer because it's the exact same for me every time yet the time it takes between ordering and getting my food varies. However, If you were hungry and pissed off, right or wrong, he IS lucky to have gotten 2 bucks lol that's more than most angry people tipped me.

yea deev the online thing has a set time no matter how busy or slow the store is...

at my store we could be having delivery times of 45 minutes or more because we are so busy and online will say 30 minutes no matter what...

Really? The online thing always shows a different time. Sometimes 30-40 minutes. Sometimes 15-25... This particular one took over a half hour from the time of ordering.

i work at pizza hut and the drivers get a lil below minimum wage plus a 1.35 for every delivery plus tips

The Domino's tracker actually says when each thing is happening... order received, order started, in the oven, quality check, out for delivery. It says who does what, and when it's being done.
