I'd like to commend the CB7 community

As a first time Honda owner, and after years of being one of those ignorant Honda haters, I caved and bought my car when I was finally sick and tired of driving piece of crap cars that keep causing me grief.

I was driving a $250 1987 Pontiac Grand Am coupe before I bought my Accord. Blew the headgasket after 3 months of ownership. Had a 98 Cadillac Catera that had a bad headgasket and snapped the timing belt...and that was an interference engine. Those are just 2 of my problem vehicles.

Anyways, curiosity had always been wanting me to poke my nose into the Honda scene and see how I could build up a Honda. I'd always had a secret sweet spot for CB7s, so when I came across my SE for the bargain price of $800 for the condition it was in, I thought I had just found myself a nice practical and reliable daily driver and a perfect car to fix up.

I absolutely love my Accord and glad I gave Honda a shot. Joining this forum has also helped a ton. Not only is the community full of very respectful and knowledgable members, unlike some forums I have been on, but when I go through the members rides threads, you guys honestly have some of the absolute cleanest and most tastefully modified Hondas I've ever seen.

So,I just want to commend the community of this great site to keep doing what you're doing, and also wanted to give you all a big thank you for your help along the way so far.

Thanks to you guys I have a garage full of Hondas already.

It sounds liek those first 2 cars were some of GMs crappier models, lol. Especially that model GA and the Catera. Those Grand Ams were POS's and the Catera...I dont know what Cadillac was thinking when they created that bastard child.

Side note, I'm always impressed with these cars. Not just Accords but most Hondas. The CRX of the late 80's has better fuel efficiency than most cars today. That thing cracked 40mpg over 20 years ago yet today it's seen as an amazing feat. :P

The sad thing is that the Catera was a $50k car brand new in 98, yet the build quality of the Honda surpasses the Caddy by miles and for half the price.

Previous vehicles I've owned have been 80s Toyota Celicas,80s RX7s, alot of Mazda B2200s and B2000s, Ford Contour, 2002 Mazda B4000 4x4, Isuzu Rodeo and Trooper, Nissan pickup and by far the Honda has been the best of the bunch since the 87 Celica GTS coupe.

But I did, and so far I don't really regret it. I woulda liked that Saab though...

B2200s are sporty when they're slammed. And have something more than the stock 2.2 in them lol.

I am definetly hooked on Hondas now. I can see more Accords, Preludes, Civics and Integras in my future.

Almost daily I scour Kijiji looking for deals on cars and parts. Had to get a $300 Accord LX 5 speed slip away last week cuz I didn't have the cash.

yea, id rather run over curbs and bushes instead. my friend's ranger with the camburg front prerunner kit has his camber at about -3 degrees camber but it corners like a motherfucker and it sits on bilsteins with 33's

That's a pretty sweet kit. I had a 2002 B4000, which is the same as a Ranger. Had 31s on it with the torsion bars maxed out and 2.5" lift shackles.It was crap on gas, rode like a jalopy and was super cramped. My dad gave it to me with over 200 000 miles on it. I'd never spend my own money to buy a Ranger. Awful trucks. Reliable, but awful.

This was mine....after I had spent $3000 in repairs and about $1000 in mods. I sold it for $3000 in July '09, and now I drive an $800 Honda. haha

i wouldnt call them reliable either. that ranger that my friend has, now the engine has low compression in 2 of the 6 cylinders. the exhaust seats are totally beat which is common and he has yet to fix it.

Mine had 430 000km on the original engine when I sold it. I drove it for 14 months and it never let me down. I only did wear and tear maintenance and when something wore out I replaced it with something better.

That was the most reliable vehicle I've owned since my Celica and that was 8 years ago.
