IPod touch

I've been thinking about getting an Ipod touch. Who has one and how do you like it? I don't own an MP3 player and I never have other than my cell phone.

Where are the best places to get one? What's the difference between gen 1, gen 2, and gen 3?

I love mine... I use it to go on the internet when I don't feel like getting on the computer, lol. The only problem I have with it is that the home button broke, so every time I want to switch from one thing to another, I have to reset it. Which gets old quick.

(By the way, I have a 1st gen 8gb.)

depends on what you are gonna use the itouch for. if you want an mp3 player just for music and videos, you can get a classic, nano, or an itouch. if you just want it for music then get a nano or classic. the nano has video, music, voice, etc and is fairly cheap and its small. ive always owned nanos and love them.

i think the top of the line(32 and 64 gig) 3rd gen itouch are the best. you can always buy a 2nd gen and hack it. free apps, free everything lol.


if you arent an apple fan, you can always get a zune. my bro just bought the new one and he loves it.

but i wont lie, i hate apple with a passion but their mp3 players are fantastic. just remember, both music and videos bought ff of an itunes store will have drm codes so you cant use them for anything other than your ipod. they do have itunes plus which eliminates the drm but always raises prices. if anything, just buy your music from amazon as they have all labels and are drm free.

i do get my music for free (who doesnt) but just letting you know about the drm

got a 3rd gen. 32 gb. LOVE it. use it for everything music, internet. etc. but one thing is that the built in mic on the headphones isnt the best of quality.

Could I use MP3's and videos from my PC or do I have to download from itunes to put things on the ipod?

IE: Can I rip a cd of mine and put the mp3's on there?

1st gen is kinda thick 2nd gen is slim no internal speaker and 3rd gen thin with built in speaker. i went threw all of them if u get one there all the same just how much space they take up is the differance. so far i like the 3rd gen cause it has the bult in speaker so theres really no use for the earphones lol.

I have the 2nd. to newest "classic" model, the 120 gig. I love it.

If you're going to go with the touch, a lot of my friends have the 3rd. gen and love it.

Guess i'd look into that if i were you.

Hmmmmmm. I like the Ipod touch because it has Wifi. I like the Iphone because it has that plus 3g. 3g unlimited is a bit expensive but it could be really nice to use with skype to call internationally. The Iphone is what, $300 or less right now. $50 more than a 32gb Ipod touch. I'm not sure if the specs for the phone are the same or not. Have to look into it more :P

If I recall correctly, an iPhone 3G is $99 and a 3GS is $199 (if you're new to AT&T). I don't remember exactly. I could be wrong.

I love my second gen 16gb touch. Don't use it alot nowadays, but still love it. Wish it had a camera and built-in mic, though.

well i personally did not like the ipod touch. it felt too small for my hands, plus it was a little too expensive. I would have gone for an iphone but AT&T is a little too expensive for me.

I got this hard, plastic clear case that made it feel like I was holding an iPhone and that helped a little.

I use mine every day. Check weather, chat with people, sports scores, games, email, ect...

What's better, get a normal phone and an Ipod touch 32gb or buy an iphone for $200-$300 + what, $50/month for unlimited 3g? I'm going to be living in Canada so I may have to pay more.
