DO NOT BUY A DRY(no oil) UNIT. They are loud as Hell. Yes, 150psi is great for the crank bolt and axles nuts (not recomended for full time use). My 33 gallon runs outta air so def. get a 60+ gal. A dual piston motor would be awesome too.
Do not buy any Campbell Hausfield compressors of any type including rebranded ones. They all end up having some type of issue early on.

I second making sure it IS oil-lubricated. The best way to determine what compressor you need is to look at the cfm usage of the largest tool you'll be using (probably 1/2" impact or paint sprayer) and get a compressor that will at least keep up. If you get one that has anything over 5cfm @ 90psi I think you'll be fine for most you'll ever want to do. If you do alot of air blow-gun cleaning you may want a tank bigger than 30 gallons. Also remember that you can buy just plain air tanks to plump inline with the air supply that effectively increases your air capacity. You may be able to go that route cheaper than buying a really large single tank.My Member's Ride Thread

i've got an oil less kind by Craftsman and for the amount of work that i used it on, it is good enough for us. When i removed my auto tranny, i used the impact gun on the axle nut but other than that we just use it to inflate our tires with air because we refuse to pay 2 dollars to inflate our tires at gas stations.

I have a small CH unit with the blue tank, kinda old but does the trick. It's not mine but my father's and I borrow it from time to time. It's oil-less, and works fine. And it's not too loud either. But if you need a bigger compressor pump and tank for bigger jobs I wouldn't recommend it.
I don't know much about them either, I think maybe the best thing to do would be to go around and ask people around you who work on cars what they prefer. Like your mechanic and shit. Might be able to steer you in the right direction.
