    Gas Mileage

Would you say a 1990 DX sedan would get better gas mileage then a LX/DX or SE because it weighs less?

It would be driven to get the best gas mileage. My brother wants a commuter car thats cheap and gets good gas mileage vs his 02 taccoma which gets 13mpg

pretty much any four cylinder car would be better to commute than that tacoma.

I used to commute 65 miles ONE WAY to work/school with this.

4.0L V6, 31" mud tires and 2.5" lift. Can you say 3 fill ups per week at around $65/fill? I also drove it from Toronto to Calgary and took me 11 tanks of gas.

I dont think a Tacoma would be getting 13mpg with me driving it.

I would much rather have power locks and windows over .5 mpg

Im not really sure how to which direction to take your first comment

And he dosent really care about lack of power windows or locks because hes just driving to and from work.

                    This is the car

Im saying your brother has a lead foot(that is assuming the tacoma is in proper working cond.)
Any cb7 with a lead food will produce just ok mileage, he wont be getting stellar milage. Hes not gonna be getting 30+mpg in the cb7 if he has the same driving style as with the tacoma

Oh no the tacoma has somthing wrong with it thats why its getting horrible gas mileage. Just recently it used to get around 23 he said but then it rapidly declined. Hes been looking for somthing before his truck was getting horrible gas mileage though.

I drive my auto Accord with a heavy foot and I still produce quite respectable milage out of it. I even just replaced my spark plugs and 02 sensor this weekend, and I bet the milage will get even better.

$40 will easily get me 500km to a tank.

mine gets good mileage as long as i dont open the cutout. it's like vtec, once it is open you just have to make the best of it.

I just put some ITR wheels on mine and drove the shit outta it compared to normal driving w/ my 17s and I improved about 3mpg lol so skinny/lightweight wheels tires would save a lot on gas mpg. going from a 215 45 17 to a 205 55 15 and the weight reduction per wheel/tire was about 10 lbs over my forged 17s.

so I'm pretty confident I could get 33mpg on the highway now instead of 29.

anyways, I've got an H22A w/ a Hseries 5spd tranny and all the bolt ons.

But I'd say the DX would be the way to go. Its the lightest out of all the Accords and I think has a diff. trans ratio than the EX/LX/SE trans to get better highway mileage.
