yes, but doing so does not turn off your public status to others. your profile is still visible... it just turns off your controls!!!!

I've removed all contacts on my public list, but the fact of the matter is some contacts could show up in the future. I've yet to find a way to disable it from my account and the public's eyes completely.

Route your email through a Email program like Windows Mail or Outlook and you dont have to worry about it.

Buzz is now built-in to Gmail. By built-in, I mean EVERYONE has a Buzz profile. By default, these profiles publicly display any contact you start talking with via email. The only way to remove these contacts is to individually remove them from your list. The only way to do this is to have Buzz turned on, and access it's controls. Turning Buzz off DOES NOT disable your public profile, and, as far as I know, contacts will still be added to your buzz profile as you start communicating with them. Using Outlook or Thunderbird does not circumvent this Gmail "feature".

gmail is what i use as a spam account. if i dont trust a site enough to gve them my real email, then i give them my gmail email that is filled with bs information so i guess im good to go. i didnt think buzz would do all that though

I use Gmail as my main email account, and have been for many years. my yahoo is my junkmail account. Gmail has an exceptional spam filter. I NEVER see junk mail in my inbox... meanwhile my yahoo account is nothing BUT junk mail... in the inbox and the spam box.

Release them as separate features with the ability to link to Gmail... not fully required by Gmail, and CERTAINLY not built into Gmail and switched on by default.

yea my gmail is my spam/junkfree account and my hotmail has turned into my porno/spam one haha because it seems that all i get anymore so i just leave it be for a few days then go and mass delet lol
