does anyone know if filing as a dependent will affect my return. i was assured it wouldnt but its now stating that if i allow someone to claim me i will only receive 297 but if no one can claim me, id receive 1064.

can someone claim you, and if so are they going to?
If you made over 3650 last year, then they cant claim you. But there might be some other things that might affect that, like if your a student. -
if you file as a dependant you will recieve alot less back and whoever claims you will receive more back. you can be claimed as a dependant if you are living at home and you did not make over half of whatever the cost of living for the year is now and are under the age of 21 or at least thats how it was explained to me back when my parents were claiming me even though i was working.
