Im going to be changing my dash soon. The dash im putting in has a diffrent vin number on it ( obviously ). Anyways what should i do? Should i leave it? Remove it and leave nothing? Or try to put mine in there? Im not even quite sure how i would go about removing it. What could happen if i had that diffrent vin up there?

It's easy enough to switch out. I believe it's riveted on, but you could probably glue it on, and just leave the rivets there for show, so it looks normal.
The VIN is also on your firewall, and possibly the doorjamb... so there are more permanent VIN numbers on your car. If you have anything illegal (or at least questionable) on your car, it'll certainly make cops look harder to find it... but unless ALL the VINs are damaged, removed, or different, then they can't do anything to you.
BUT... just chaneg out the plate and don't worry about it!

Honestly, I can't even believe this question .. not tryin to be a dick or anything .. but please ..
I almost thought this was like a joke or somethng, until I read it like twice ..
Please .. PLEASE .. remove the vin tag from your old dash before you install it ..
and rivet it on the new one .. do not drive without replacing it .. period!
Especially if you have modded parts, a different motor, a loud exhaust .. you name it ..
Man! Talk about asking for trouble !!!!!!!
Out here on the west coast, they wouldn't even fuck with you .. that car would be crushed ..
I dunno what the laws are like back there .. but c'mon man .. lets use our heads!

They could make life reeeeal difficult .. if they wanted to be dicks about it ..
and trust me .. you get some highway patrol, drill sergeant hat wearing, ego prick cop,
and duuude .. your ass AND car are gonna be in such a huge sling .. it could be used as a hammock!!!
I mean, I've seen some questions asked here before, you know I've been here forever ..
I've even seen the same questions asked ... I dunno how many times .. but seerrriousl!
Asking this question, IMHO, is about the same as asking, "you know, I got a new rear bumper,
and I need to know if I should change the plates" .. .. .. duhhhh !!!!
You have to be:
A) wayyy young, and not know enough to know better ...
B) so naive .. you don't know better .. or
C) too dumb to know better ...
I refuse to believe the answer is C ..
