idk man, my personal feeling is, it's there for a reason. For example, when I got pulled over and the VT state trooper was being an asschode he made me read the back of my inspection sticker off to him as he checked my VIN badge with a flashlight through the windshield. I'd replace the one that's on there with your's. Just to be safe. Better that way in the long run

A Honda dealer should NEVER cut a key without definite proof of ownership. If they do, they can get seriously sued.93 accord Black 10th Anniversary (REBUILD)

As for the key... if they did that, that's totally wrong. Anyone could walk in there and get a key made if they do that. You should contact that dealer and inform them that their employees are cutting keys without proof of ownership.

Not only do we have them on the inside of our driver's door and firewall ..
but, correct me if I'm wrong .. we also have them somewhere on our motors ..
Atleast I coulda sworn I once saw one on mine ..
And yeah .. if that one dealership is cutting keys and not checking proof of ownership,
I'd contact Honda of America, or whoever .. and really let them know about that .. ASAP!
I could walk in there, have a key cut .. give it to Tippey .. and then say he had it cut ..
turn around, sue the dealership, then I'd own those mother fuckers .. oh, and of course,
I'd give 49% to Tippey .. you see, I'd have to own the other 51% by his decision making alone ..

Even if the cops know... they won't necessarily check. They could impound the car on suspicion of it not being legal. If the registration doesn't match the VIN, then as far as the cop is concerned, it's not a registered vehicle (I know I've driven cars with plates from other cars on them...)
Get pulled over at 1am, and see how many cops feel like digging around in your engine bay to search for a VIN...
