That's where my credit card was through before... they offered me crap (and they also jacked up my interest rate to 29% for one missed payment, just because I forgot to click "confirm payment"!)

I do need to save. Right now, I keep my money in a checking account. I have more in there than I need to have in there. Once I take care of my taxes next week, I'm going to look to invest a chunk of it.

You'll probably see an investment thread from me soon as well... I hope HondaB18 is still around, I know he's into investments...

I don't know anything about credit cards because I don't have one, however WAWA is the greatest thing on earth. Nothing like going on a drunkin wawa run at 3am. Everything there is cheap and delicious. Plus having free ATMs are amazing!

I always hear of Discover cashback and rewards.

A couple I'm friends with are going on a European trip, "free" from the rewards they received.

So whats the verdict? I went to shell today and looked at their credit card, and doesn't look like it gives you back anything at all?

I haven't searched since the day I made this thread. I really should get on that!

The bank of america card looks like it only gives you rewards for 6 months, and they are very weak at that.

Yeah, that's what I have now. Apparently, my gym has still been billing me, even though the card I gave them was expired. I never activated the new card. This perplexes me (though I'm glad I'm not defaulting on my contract, not that I go...) I've heard bad things about BoA as well, at least on the mortgage end of things (I work in foreclosures, and I hear they're incredibly unreasonable.) They also jacked me up to 29% and kept it there for one late payment.

                        I have an Chase/Amazon Visa that gives me rewards. I get 3 points/$1.00 for any amazon.com purchase, I think 2 points/$1.00 for gasoline/food, and 1 point/$1.00 for everything else. 2500 points gets you a $25 gift certificate to amazon.com, 5000 for $50, etc.

I also have a Bank of America rewards card on which the points accumulate very similar to the amazon card but they can be redeemed for many different gift cards (restaurants, gas stations, straight cash, etc).

Your best bet is to go online and search the various banks and see if anything suits you. Reward cards generally have high interest but if you pay it off that's never a factor.

Is the Amazon and BoA card rewards good always, or only the first 6 months you have them?

Good always, I've had the Amazon card for a couple years. They did have a few months at the first where I had something like triple rewards and then they dropped down to what I posted.
