I had a guy at one of my jobs try to race me for pinks in his Millenia (the NA version) with 18" chromies on it. I said yes. He changed his tune quickly. Which is good... I have no interest in that car!
I was very dissapointed in the Millenia (NA and SC). Mazdafail on those. I felt it should have been much more powerful than my 98 auto 626.

Very much so. The supercharger on the S model was innovative, though. It was a Lysholm Screw design, which is more advanced (and more expensive) than the Roots style blowers used on most production cars (even Mercedes Benz doesn't use the Lysholm Screw type). It's a much more efficient supercharger. It actually compresses the air, much as a turbo does, rather than acting as "increased displacement", ans the Roots blowers do. The downfall is that they're very expensive to repair when they wear out, and they do wear out.

Then again, GM did the high power large FWD car thing with the Grand Prix GTP and GXP, Monte Carlo SS, and various Buick models... Honestly, a large supercharged engine in a FWD car is just too much! That whole concept is fail, IMO. That's why little 4 cylinder cars make the best FWD hotrods.
