I hope so! lol And as a parent, that whole "hurts me more than you": Total bullshit. I don't enjoy having to punish my children, but having given out and received punishment, getting it sucks WAY more than giving it does.

I'm curious how many generations before the current one have had this same conversation. Just as you can't generalize all the black people into pulling out 9mm and robbing you for your expired credit cards, you can't generalize an entire upcoming generation to all gangbangers and video game addicts. The world will keep turning, hopefully evolve a bit, and survival of the fittest will get people like this 10 year old kid thrown in jail and off the streets.

Amen, brother. The thing is that now the spread and extent of humanity's ignorance and cruelty is more easily observed than in the past. The internet and television make it more noticeable.
When it was news in the paper or on the radio, it was a story. You weren't as aware of the rest of the world. Just major issues that were newsworthy. Now it all comes into your house at nearly the speed of light, and people are proud of their ignorance and violence. Look at youtube, Jackass, or any show about douchebags, spoiled rich girls, or any of the reality shows.

While, living in downtown Detroit for the past 5 years, I've come to realize...the most dangerous people here are kids from 10-15 years old.

I've had some run-ins with kids like these...it's not fun. They scare the shit out of even me.

They're all at the age now where they can finally think for themselves, but aren't mature enough to understand right from wrong. Kids have turned into packs of wolves. Each kid is trying to show his friends that HE is the toughest of the group...and it sucks because they are going to extreme lengths to do so.

I've had little African American kids in groups vulgarly insult me and try to pick fights. Nothing ever happens, but it's jaw dropping at some of the things these kids are willing to do. It's like having a Chihuahua that wont stop barking...it doesn't realize that it's tiny.

Columbus isn't as bad as Detroit (My ex's family lives all over the place up there, Sylvan Lake, White Lake, Pontiac, so I know), but it's the same down here. What's funny is to have some kid start eyeballing you expecting you to be intimidated and you give him a crazier eye back. I grew up in one of the worst schools in the city. These punks can kiss my ass. I'm not intimidated by anyone. I lived in the projects (now torn down) that was dubbed Uzi Alley by the police and media and I lived in another one of the worst areas of Columbus for over 7 years. I also did security for a hotel that was next to one of the worst clubs in Columbus. Their customers would always park in our lot and I'd stand out front and tell them "I'm going to have to tow that car if you walk into the bar. I know you aren't a guest here and this is private property." I can't tell you how many times I've told some drunk asshole "Pull it out and shoot me then. You parked your car in my lot and I had it towed out of here." Two years of that job and not once did anyone so much as take a swing at me. Most of it's just frontin'.

Aside from that the discipline when you talk to the younger generation nowadays is crazy if you hit them as a parent trying to discipline them the laws protect them and you may actually go to jail. Another person who may see may say you may be abusing them. ACS services may come and intervene for shit like that.

yesterday i saw some punkass kid that thinks hes tuff in my hood get arrested. funniest thing ever he wasent tuff with handcuffs and tears coming down his eye's (tears=best lube) im 28 and in noway scared of some little dickface but i know if smack one around ill get into trouble. so let the cops handel it.


jail dosent solve problems it makes more problems that kid will come out being more ganster. like people before me said discapline is the way to go. im pretty sure if you smacked that kid upside the head the min he mouth off he would be embaresed and crying infront of his friends. i remember when i was a kid when it was legal if i mouth off to my mom she would smack me in public (i didnt mouth off ever again) my mom put the fear of God into me. she would say if i got kiddnaped or left with a stranger i better be ready for when i got home becuase its going to be much worse. so i always listen. and thank my mother for rasing me in that manner.

Yea they dont seem to think about it till after. I call it the jackass effect. Parents are so involved in there own lives that they dont pay attention to what there kids are doing. Letting the public schools raise them. Which the school is just teaching the kids that want to listen and the other kids just take up a seat. Those kids find other outlets like causing trouble for attention.
