Does anyone hate the holidays?

I hate having stuff forced on me, no homo. My CD player got stolen, so I have to hear Snoop rapping about Christmas...plus I have finals, this, that, gotta get my girly girl a gift, it's all FUBAR'd. Plus the whole meaning is lost....it's all messed up. My GF and I are at odds about this; she loves the holidays, while I hate how they make you feel like you're supposed to be happy. Does anyone agree?

it not that i hate the holidays, i just hate how people get around this time, everyone is out buyin shit, my store is soooo busy now (liquior store), i hafta spend money on gifts for people and that leaves me broke. i dun get shit....in like 3 years i havent got a gift that i actually said, wow i really like this. but i guess its like that wen u get older.
not to mension i only have memories of a x-mas with my ex which makes everythin much harder. i guess thats life tho.

I hate when someone buys you a gift, you're sort of obligated to get them something in return. And then you finally open the gift, and it's a paper picture frame.....you just happened to buy them a nice shirt or something. OVERRATED!!!

I just think its a sign of growing up. Although not to be un-pc...but the whole PC thing is kinda downplaying Christmas a lot more as of late. People work more than they ever have. The holiday is becoming less and less important and less relevant. Plus as you get older, its hard to buy lots of things, and you start getting a concept of money and all of that.

I dont really hate the holidays themselves.. its a nice time that you get off work(sometimes) and get to see people that you havent seen in a while. but there are all the downfalls such as:

no money, you are expected to spend all that you have
roads/stores/malls are packed so you cant get anywhere
people are pissed off everywhere
when your in FL, it doesnt snow, so it sure dont feel like christmas
you hear the same old annoying xmas tunes
you gotta see the same rediculously over-decorated houses from last year that look even more disgusting this year

i really don't like this time of year. especially this year... christmas songs bug the shit out of me, the whole present thing is a burden....since i have no money (all goes to the cb7!) and i hate the "merry christmas"'s....it just seems like that should only be said ON christmas...that and i'm not religious....so this whole "meaning" thing that everyone talks about is irrelevant. in past years, since i am not religious, this time of year was about being with family, exhanging gifts with loved ones because it's a nice thing to do...but now it's all sort of bothersome...i dunno..if it weren't for christmas though, i wouldn't be getting my Marshall Half Stack!!!! so christmas will be okay by me i suppose, but the season sucks!

i work at best buy and the holidays are too focused around buying shit. today for example is the last saturday before christmas and there so many people buying stuff. people are so worried about buying stuff they forget that the point of the holidays is to give to those who dont have a roof over their heads or food on their plate, or atleast donating your time to help the needy - despite what any commercial or ad tells you.
