There is no way that a 90-93 accord will be considered in the same ranks as the icons of automobiles that are out there .

I understand, to a certain extent. I've been pulled over for my WS2 for it being shiny. Anyone who owns or have seen this muffler preform knows how quiet it is, especially when cruising. I was doing just that. kurobei has been pulled over for a supposed tail light being burnt out that really wasnt. I've been pulled over for my car fitting a description of a crime scene of someone digging in a mailbox. The cop was leaving the scene and I was directly across from him at the stoplight. How did he figure I could of been the suspect?

Seriously, SOME cops profile. I get cops staring at me when I drove my Accord around town. Since it's been under contruction, I've been driving my 01 BMW 330i. I don't even see cops look at me. Easy ticket? Quotas? Hmmm....

Listen, I'm 38 and I won't give up my cb7 for anything. I work for a Toyota dealer, I've worked for Honda, Mazda, even Chevrolet. I won't buy any car that is obdII, reason being those car are purposely designed to have to wind up in the dealer one way or another. All these car companies are designing their vehicles to have to go back to the dealer in order to get money out of the do it yourself'r, and keep the independant mechanic out from under the hood. Now being that I work at a dealer I can get discounts on parts, negotiate deals on labor, but that's not me. I'm a former tech, and prefer to do my own work, I don't like letting someone else do something that I'm perfectly capable of doing, and if something is not right having to figure out what they did wrong and taking it back in order to straighten it out. Or fixing their fuck up when I just should have did the job myself.
Drive what you want, don't let some donut eating, profiling, self entitled jackass with a badge determine what you should be driving. He doesn't know what your life is like to be telling you what you should be driving. I give you an example that caused me to not judge what car anyone should be driving. I had a customer who was 6 foot 4, 320 lbs. he drove a 2003 4dr civic. He looked awkward driving that car, it was way too small for him, I told him "you should be driving an accord or a pilot.", his response was "this was all I could afford.". After that I never made a judgement as to what someone should be driving.

i can assure you there is no quotas for tickets..... but if a kid is driving esp. in a kid car he most likely is up to something. Drugs, drinking, illegal parts, so many things. Profiling sucks but it happens. It helps alot, however it sucks for the people who aren't doing anything.

yea, i hate holding marijuana in my car because its just one more thing a cop can notice when he/she pulls me over.

Way way back when i was 16, i got my first car. A 74 VW beetle. I learned to drive stick in that car. I got into modding it and was opened up to modding but more importantly, the modding community. Even more importantly, the VW modding community.

I feel I was lucky to get into VW's first. They are the most diverse and unique crowd and accepting of almost anything. In the way of mods, people, etc... It was the only time I've seen 60 & 70 yo men (and their wives! and kids! and whole family!) hanging out with the younger crowd and there were no issues. No trying to be tolerant. It just was. Everybody just purely shared the love of the cars. They all came from all over for these events, sometimes across the country. Just to hang out with whoever else liked the same thing they did. Bone stock repro's next to fiberglass monstrosities and everything else in between. Not a bad word spoken among them. It was great.

I wish the Honda tuning community was more like that.

Don't worry about anyone else. Only yourself.
I believe it was Digitial Underground that said it best... Do what cha like.

                            According to society... most likely
                            According to this forum... no

Different people have different budget and I hate to generalize but if someone was able to afford a nicer and newer car comfortably they would. A person can accomplish a lot in 38 years (not saying you have or have not as I don't know any of your life stories). Maybe I push myself to succeed or maybe not enough but when I'm 38 I don't plan to own a car I can buy in half a paycheck. Modding doesn't go away and I'm aware of that but the car can. IMO I fail at life

Well it boils down to it, its simple: if the car is easy to maintain with NO car payments your set.
