Bisimoto's Turbo build: Quest for 700whp D16Z WagoVan

Shadow1 shared that this may interest my CB7 brethren.

For years, I have focused on naturally aspirated performance. I loved, and still do love, the challenge of sailing in uncharted waters, and extracting what was seen as impossible power.

Last year, Bisimoto Engineering participated in a high profile engine challenge/shootout, to determine which shop could produce the most HP/litre in a streetable, unleaded fuel engine. Cosworth, and I opted for all motor builds, as a torture test was promised for the engines, and the units had to fit in a factory chassis. Long story, short, other competitors with boosted setups faired very well in the competition, and even though Bisimoto with a 360 hp F22A engine placed better than Cosworth, we did not win the event.

At the award ceremony, I was approached by an employee of the winning team, and asked why we chose to run n/a. I simply answered that we wanted to build an engine in the true spirit of the competition: a reliable, streetable, chassis friendly engine. I guess that answer was not good enough, as he responded, "didn't you build all motor, because that is all you know?"

I quickly shared that n/a is quite difficult, and that we have built, and tuned customers boosted engines for years, and frankly, it was not as challenging. He chuckled and walked away saying, "yea, all motor is all you know".

Well, after that interaction, I promptly walked over to Jonathan Wong of SuperStreet magazine, and shared with him my new desire:
To build the most powerful street, small displacement Honda ever...in a Wagovan (just to be absurd). It would not be a dyno queen, but a car that will be driven, to and from events, shows, meets and...the supermarket.

You should have done a 4wd wagon. That would have been just awesome.

SuperStreet has turned a new leaf, and is more technical nowadays. Thanks for al the kind words, all.
The 4WD will suffer breakage if 700 ponies are run through it.

Ok, more pics. Wagon completly stripped of the interior and engine:

And now painted with the Team Bisimoto Electric Blue:

told ya man. no tear downs from us. we all for your progress in the tuner world. you already have the fastest all motor F-series. i doubt anyone up here would doubt you. unless you built like 4 motors and they blew up when you started it. lol.

but its sad to hear that your getting rid of the AWD system. shnit. would be freakin awesome to see 700hp at all 4 wheels on a civic wagon. haha. i say you build the tranny up man. custom driveshafts to handle the power. im sure you can do it man. just another notch on the totem pole

I didn't realize that was why this build was going on!

Bisi, you continue to inspire me with your work. Taking a non-standard engine to the next level is the work of a true enthusiast. The industry would do well to have more people like you in it.

I would be intrigued to see the numbers you could pull from a K powerplant.

Mr. Bisimoto, you dominated N/A and were the first to show the pure potential of these 4 cylinder engines.

my god what will you do to the FI!!! Can't wait to see the results
