I've clicked 4 different "read the full story" links, and I have yet to get to the full story...

I haven't heard anything bad about the MKS... the Touraeg is a new VW, so of course there are problems there. The XF is supoosed to be an AMAZING car... when it works. The Colorado? Never heard anything bad until now! And the GL350... also never heard anything bad about it.

If the research is done as poorly as the writing and presentation, then I don't put much stock in that article.

I have officially lost all respect for Forbes Magazine based on that article. I found out how to cycle through the cars. All it gives is the Consumer Reports "% worse than average", and the yearly repair cost. No in depth reports on the individual vehicles to say WHY they're terrible.

      Terrible.

I drive an '09 Colorado for work regularly. We got it with 10K miles on it, and have put almost 40k on it so far with no problems what so ever.

Only issues I've heard about Colorado/Canyons is the exterior paint. But, that was only during the first few years of production. I'm sure they've fixed that issue by now.

A Mercedes will last forever if you don't drive it!

The old ones are tanks, just like the old BMWs and VWs. The more complicated they got, the more they broke.

I guess that's why you still see so many original VW Beetles rolling around. They were dirt simple.

Read Car and Driver. They seem to always give the real deal about new and old cars. They keep it real.

Mercedes, VW, BMW, and all the rest of the big boys have major problems for two reasons. Either the tech don't know how to fix/solve the problems; I've seen it first hand while working for M.B. They just send them back out on the road without solving the problems. Secondly, the techs don't fix them correctly. A car will come into the shop for an electrical problem, they'll doctor it up to make it work for like a week and then the same problems occurs again. It's like they hide the problems temporarily.

I have an 09 Canyon Off Road Crew Cab. I like it, and don't see why it would be on the top five clunker cars, especially with a 5yr 100,000 mile warranty. I think it's over priced, but I got an employee discount plus a few thousand dollars worth of rebates.
