The 6 is a nice car. tonymontana just got a Mazdaspeed6 (I pushed him towards it... he wanted cop cars... ) and he loves it.

Was your ebrake handle chewed on?

Good Choice, lots of aftermarket support for the regular 6. Everything is super expensive for the speed.

Great car so far! Ride is smooth and the motor has some guts.

                My plans for it include-
                wheels and tires
                lip kit
                mazdaspeed drop
                roll the fenders
fix the e-brake handle that was chewed on
                better looking exhaust tips/exhaust
and a tsx retro (the stock projectors suck)
and one of the color matched stock grills

                    I've always liked the Mazda6, nice choice! Being a 5-speed, I assume you have the 2.4? 4-cylinder?

                          It's a 2.3. 160hp.

The V6 is only a 220hp Ford Duratec anyway, so it's really nothing special. I'd prefer the 2.3L myself.

It probably wouldn't take much to convert that 2.3L to Mazdaspeed specs. It's pretty much the same engine.

No, I have the 3.0L v6 in this baby. Although I have heard that people like to autocross the 2.0L and 2.3L 4 cyl 6's, because their handling is quite fantastic. (They do quite well too.)

Very true. It depends all on what your futrue plans are. If you want to turbo, then you most likely should get the 2.3L. If not, then v6 is most likely the way to go. Apparently, the v6 sees significant power gains from a cold air intake, much like the K-series in the newer Hondas.
