Smart computer people?

I am trying to fix my girlfriends dad computer so any help will be great because he is going to be back home tomorrow haha.

Problem:
The monitor is not getting a signal. The computer turns on but the monitor will not get a signal. It worked just fine then it stopped. Its not beeping or anything just turns on, so I am not sure if it is 100% booting up.

The computer I believe is a v2 premier, any one know how to fix this problem?

if there is a dedicated video card pull that out wait 10secs and plug it back in,if that doesnt work then you need a new video card. if its just on the motherboard then you need a new motherboard

Its all connected and the monitor just has a yellow light. Its not flashing or anything

What about the video cord, is it integrated into the monitor, or can it be removed from the back of the screen? those wires in the cable are very small, 1 of them could of broken??

That company likes to use alot of ECS brand (crap) motherboards.

I've replaced them more than once per machine. Most have onboard video so a PCI or AGP (if equipped) card would be useful.

Basically you're gonna do your general no-POST troubleshooting here.

Any beep codes?

Remove/isolate:

1. RAM
2. Video
3. Ancilliary peripherals not needed to boot the machine but may be tying up hard resources. This is less common but has happened before, i.e. a fried modem causing POST to fail.

Sometimes beep codes are not present as-failed, but can be had once you start isolating parts. There are different codes for bad power 5/12V, video, RAM, etc. No beep with CPU present but no other parts usually means bad CPU/board but this is less common, for CPU anyway. The beeps used to be the same across the board with AT standard but it isn't like this anymore so you have to look them up.

Don't assume anything - try a different monitor, cable, everything. Unplug the keyboard and mouse while doing this - i've actually had a bad kb/mouse hang a system and prevent POST. Weird shit but if a vital interface is getting bad input at the wrong time, anything can happen.

Thanks for all that info. Im going to give it try and see where I get. Im not very smart when it comes to that kind of stuff lol. And its not my computer so it makes doing stuff a lot more terrifying.
