Willy Wonka is like the best f'in movie, and I have so many childhood memories with it. This new version, although only snippets of the real thing, looks like absolute shit. Not regular shit, like a huge pile of jurassic park shit from hollywood. Sorry, imho, there's only one willy wonka, and that's Gene Wilder. Although, johnny depp is a good actor, I can't see how a Tim Burton movie could do willy wonka justice. In plain English, it looks WEIRD.

See this is the problem. EVERYONE thinks its a remake of the original. Its not. Its a movie version of the BOOK. So its not mean't to be the same at all.

I didn't know that, well, it changes a few things...I read the book when I was in 5th grade, don't remember much. But, I know one thing, most people will associate this as a remake, and in some ways it is.

The original movie is so good... got my kids hooked on it now. Best DVD purchase I ever made.

But ya, the new one is from the book, not the movie which is different enough. Tim Burton and Johnny Depp are both excellent at what they do, should be a good show.

Tim Burton IS weird, that's why he's good, ever see Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Pee Wee's Big Adventure?
