4 Hondas Stolen In My Area!

So I read the newspaper today, and under the Police and Fire log there was a heading....

    4 HONDA'S STOLEN!

For some reason people like to steal Honda's around here. So my question is, what can I do to prevent mine from being next?

When coming home at night, well actually anytime, I look to make sure there is noone behind me. If there is, I will keep driving until I know I can pull to my development unseen. What other precautions can I do to prevent theives? Remove spark plugs? Disconnect distributor wires? etc....

    Tell me what you think....

100% prevention is impossible, obviously. But don't listen to the above boneheads siting "if they want it, they will get it." I'm sure saying that will make you feel great after getting jacked knowing you did nothing to try and stop it. If you don't have an alarm already get one and don't let some big box store install it, they'll fuck it up. Here is a site with tons of info, some of which I use on my personal vehicles as well as stealth installs I do. http://causeforalarm.thecarthing.com...on7/index.html
The most important thing is layers, a "pro" thief can get around the club, kill switches, alarms, a pulled ecu, etc. However the better equipped your security is the more likely it is the the thief to say screw it and move to an easier target.

Yeah I know, but I would like to take steps to make it alittle harder for them.

I dont show off at all actually. I like to keep the car clean, but its not like i drive around all day, and look for people to show the car off too. I have two kids, and I work all day. On the weekends is when I do most of my driving, so people dont see the car all the time.

I could do that, but then would I have worry about moisture getting in there from the weather, and taking it out all the time?

Thanks for the information. I do have two alarms. One is a factory Honda alarm, and the other is an aftermarket one that came with the car...

I have two cameras at my house. One by the car, one in my backyard. The only thing is, if I'm sleeping I wont know the car is gone til the morning. I'm trying to prevent them from taking it period. Thanks for the input though.

What about an aftermarket steering wheel. I haven't done much research, but would that be something to look into? The car is automatic, so with it in gear and no steering wheel, I guess it would be hard to take?

that could work, my wheels have special lug nuts that you need a key. so possibly. And no, I'm not talking about your ordinary autozone/walmart lugnuts/key.

but then again, if they can steal a car, would it be easy for them to pick at the boot key mechanism?
