I'm on my way to work today when I notice that the shimmy I usually don't feel until about 75 has shown up about 60-65. Great, I need to do the tie rod ends soon. Yay.
After work today, I'm on my way home, only a couple blocks into the drive, when I notice an odd smell. Almost fuel, but kind of sweet. I look around to see if the newbie left a fruit roll-up somewhere, but I don't see anything. A cuple of blocks later there's no doubt, it's definitely fuel. I pull over to the curb, pop the hood and fuel is spraying out of the fuel line for the n2o kit at the solenoid. (keep in mind I've had them hooked up for a few eeks with no problems at all. I still don't know how it got loose) I shut the car down and discover that the clamp is so loose I can turn the hose by hand. I grab a screwdriver and tighten it up, start the car and problem fixed.
Stop to get my haircut, drive home (smelling fuel because it's on my hands and being paranoid about it) so when I pull up I check, everything's dry, nothing leaks. Cool.
I come out of the house an hour or so later to go pick up the younger kids from daycare and my muffler looks funny. It's definitely not sitting parallel to the ground like it normally does. I get down to look underneath and find this:
That's right, both welds have ripped the stainless and the whole thing is hanging from the rear wheel mounts back. I guess I'll be hitting up a muffler shop in the next day or so to have it repaired. I'll probably have them pull it up and towards the passenger side so it sits properly. It's always hung low and left...
just like me!
