The IP's don't match between him in school and the one that last thing was posted on. Can you go to jail for this? I'm not sure. Kinda sucks if its true tho.

you can be arrested for any moving violation at the discretion of the officer (hence the reason for "license displayed in lieu of bail" at the bottom or reverse side of tickets).
a judge can sentence you to jail for any moving violation at his/her discretion.
