Its pretty much "brick" proof. I've messed up so many times with my phone trying to jailbreak it (which is really easy, but I neglect to following instructions.)
that it's as good as a "brick". All can be fixed with a simple Itunes plug-in and installing original firmwire.

Why is it pointless

The 3rd gen 32gb and 64gb come with faster processers in them. They also come with headphones that have a mic on them and volume controls ( same as iphone 3gs headphones ). The 8gb 3rd gen only comes with 3.0 software. You could jailbreak it as others said but it will " void " your warranty. If anything happens such as you break the screen all you need to do is unjailbreak your ipod and they will never know you tried. And its next to impossible to brick an iphone/ipod touch because they always revert to a recovery mode that you cant really mess up.

but yeah i've had at least 7-8 ipod touch's and 2 iphones and ilovedthem!
if u have the 2nd/3rd gen u have blutooth in yours which is pretty coool.
and i love the touch because i can just hit the mail button and brings me all my emails without turning on a computer!

How do you remove an app?

1. 1st gens don't have external volume controls. if yours DOES it's either a 2nd or 3rd gen

2. to remove/re-arange and app. you hold any icon with your finger. like leave the icon pressed like you wanna go to it but don't let go. all of the icons should start to shake and stuff and click on the "x" on the icon and it should get rid of it to get out of the remove-rearange thing just hit the HOME button

Mine has volume control on the side, and it also has blue tooth. I think someone said the 3rd gens only come in 32gb and 64gb, so mine must be a 2nd gen since its 8gb

theres rumors about the new 3gen touch having wireless 801.11 "N" and an FM transmitter although apple hasn't enabled them you know. and theres also a rumor about there being Enough room in there for apple to install one of those iphone cameras in your Itouch!! idk how the'll do it but that's just whats going around on the internet

haha you'll get the hang of it soooon! theres alot of online apps like online poker with other touch/iphone users idk if your into that. and a bunch of others. i usually don't have time to download apps and test them but my girl does

I added a free app called Sportacular. It sends you updates of sports scores lol. I'm adding my favorite teams now.
