iphone help... phone won't call out!

I know I should contact AT&T, but I'll see if maybe there's some easy fix first.

Texts work. My account is not overdue (just got the bill today, and I checked online to make sure everything is current... it's all fine).

However, when I try to call out, it just gives the 3 "call failed" beeps, and that's it.

I turned it off and back on. I reset it. No change. I may yank the SIM card next, to see if that does anything.

Other than that... I'm clueless. I hope it's not busted!

I think that happened to one of the Paterson dudes, he said he took it back to the Apple Store and they replaced the phone with a new one.

Last year when i accidentally fried my phone (over charged it) i took it to the Apple store and they gave me a new one no questions asked.

It'd be nice to get a brand new one, though. I managed to break the camera on this one within the first 2 weeks of owning it. Not sure if it's broken hardware, or something with the software... Having one with a working camera would be handy!

I just sync'd it the other day... still worked afterward, though. I usually cancel the sync when i plug it into my computer

Is it still in warranty? If it is then hook it up to itunes, restore the whole iphone to factory settings and bring it in. Why do you have it unlocked if you have at&t?

I got it used from my buddy Matt (customlowz). It was his personal phone, though he sells iphones and ipods that he refurbishes on ebay. He unlocked and jailbroke it long before he sold it to me.

It's a 1st gen, so I'm quite sure it's not longer under warranty.



However... it started working again. Perfectly. No issues. WTF?

Oh well... this is a gift horse who's teeth I will never examine.





Now I just have to email the girl I gave my number to... and tell her that she can call me now, because my phone works. It's so lame to say "here's my number... but my phone doesn't work right now!"

This happened to a few dozen blackberries on my corporate AT&T account yesterday - GPRS/EDGE data but no GSM voice.

A call to ETS fixed it for the ones that couldn't wait - the rest, back up today.

Is it to everyone on your phone or only certain people?
Our landline won't allow us to call our flatmate's cell for some strange reason.

Hmmm..One of my friend are having the same problem.
Won't call out, won't accept call, no voicemail show, and no text show unless he turn it off and back on a few times.
