We "hate" domestics. They "hate" tuners.

We all know it exists.

Its not ALL tuners and ALL domestics, but there is a feud there. I'll admit, i like domestics, but i also know the crowd and how they get.

I could be wrong, it very well could be a random act of hate.

I didnt mean to say that the forum is bad.....I love this place.....but it for sure isnt the place it was when I joined in 05.....Ive seen you say it before....its inevitable that a change was gonna happen....cheaper cars leads to more people buying them.....that leads to more people clashing on here.

The OT sections are still pretty good, though. This is my favorite part of the site. The tech sections are where you gain knowledge and respect. The OT sections are where you make friends.

The Beginner Forums help to curb the negative effects of the "new crowd". By the time the kiddies make it through there, they're usually not as ignorant. We may not have a forum full of HondaFan81s, but I'd still say that the majority of the active posters on this forum are at least functionally intelligent.

There are two drag strips in NJ. Englishtown and Atco.

Englishtown is HUGE for imports. Atco is the place to go if you need two hands to count the pistons in your engine.

Englishtown is where you get your car stolen.
Atco is where you get your ass handed to you by an 11 second muscle car.

Englishtown sucks.
Atco... doesn't.



The domestic vs. import thing is stupid... mainly because those that actually believe in the crap they're spewing are incredibly ignorant. Both have their strengths. Both have their weaknesses.

Unfortunately, most of us grew up in the 90s and early 2000s... when domestics were at an all-time low. They've been getting better, but the quality DID suffer as the Japanese makers got better.

happend to my sister's car. woke up one morning and someone threw a 10lb. weight on her rear windshield. happended throughout the whole town and found out they were 16-17 yrs old HS kids. sucks for the parents had to pay for everything. got us 350 dollars out of them

I've been a domestic guy my whole life. My dad worked for GM for like 35 years. I knew every car from 1950+ by heart. My first 7 cars were domestics (Ford, Chevy, Pontiac, Dodge).

I know that people feel the need to compensate for their inadequacies by insulting other people. Listen to basketball fans lately? What about Nascar? It's rediculous. People express how much they hate another player because he's good. I don't find it odd that people are the same when it comes to their hobbies. Most of it stems from jealousy.

Has anyone seen a Dodge Ram that didn't have a loud exhaust? Most of the time, the only mods they do are put offroad tires on them (yet never leave the pavement) cover the back windshield with stickers, and put chrome accessories on. Isn't that equivalent to rice? How about the way they drive? On your ass, bright ass purple lights, and they talk shit about import drivers?

Most of the true enthusiasts (above the age of 30) that really love their cars aren't so rude and defensive. I can't remember how many times I've had people strike up a conversation about how nice my car looks. Even the old timers do it. There are occasional car shows/meets around town - one time I stopped in the parking lot (at sonic) and 2 guys came over to chat with me about my car. When people realize we're all enjoying the same hobby in our own ways, they let their guard down and realize how we're having fun just like they are.

Now as far as the loud obnoxious attention-seekers, they're assholes, even when they're not driving. Loud mouths in the movie theater, at restaurants are the same jack asses running loud exhausts vying for attention. What about people with their music so loud they can't hear you honking at them? Can you possibly focus on driving when a car horn rated around 100db cannot be heard? More attention seekers.

I don't know about where you are, but I RARELY see a walmart lot at night without tuners in it. In Winchester, we chilled at walmart (or Sheetz, or Pargos until they tore it down to build CVS.) In woodstock, we chilled at Walmart (or sheetz) and in Harrisonburg, they chill at Walmart.

I think it's just any 24/7 lot, since it's less likely they'll get kicked out.
