i work for advance and i know what u mean. some people come in the store looking for a o2 sensor or plugs for a vehicle they don't even know.

all they tell me it's the blue one outside. i'm like wtf....

    but that's people these days!

this girl came in the other night. with NO tranny fluid in her jeep. she flipped it on the side and it all leaked out and kept driving for a few days until it started shifting and not running right. comes to us asking for advice we check her tranny dipstick and not "1" drop of fluid in that bitcch..we told her to park it and call a mechanic.. it was like a 04 jeep too.

When do we start bidding? Haha.

I think the funniest conversation I've heard yet:

Employee: "Is your vehicle an auto or a manual?"

      Woman: "Uh...how would I know?"

Employee: "Well an auto changes gears by itself. A manual, well you do it yourself."

Woman: "I don't know. I guess a manual then. We didn't pay a lot for the car."

Employee: "Well, do you know if your car has a clutch? It's the third pedal closest to the door."

Woman: "I have no idea. Does it matter that it's a Cavalier?"

Employee: "(Sighs) No ma'am. Is the car outside?"

Woman: "No, it's at home. I don't know how to drive a stick."

yea there's a lot of different terminology for manual. i think the older term is standard or four on the floor.

guy walks in today and drops a part on the counter. i guess out loud that its the map sensor, he says "yes, for a 03 mustang v6." so i find we have no listing for that part, cross reference the part number on it and find its an egr flow sensor. i point this out to him to which he replies "i duno" and shrugs. if you dont even know what it is why did you take it off of your car and decide to replace it? fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

because the ignorant like to replace parts.

kinda like my dad's es300. i put in another engine and torque converter only to find out the hesitation issue still exists. lol

Because since it was old 'n dirty, he figured that it was causing the problem.

And he drives a V6 mustang. Wuddya expect?

Yeah your doin the right thing. When it comes to customer service you gotta keep your cool. Usually anyone who wants the right parts the first time would atleast know their own car or a customers car. Did they even atleast have the vin to their car to atleast match it up.

If they came to you with a sensor that needed to be replaced surely just about any team member can help out with that to replace it. man i love that kinda job cause you ya gotta hustle di money
