    PS3 Help.

    Ok guys i bought a PS3 off of my friend a while back and know i need to know the cord needed to play online.

    I just need to know the cord needed to run from my PS3 to my motem, to play online and go on the internet.

    go wireless! if you have a wireless modom just connect wirelessly like i did or go purchase a wireless modom.

      Well i would go wireless but i don't know if my motum is a wireless one, and if it is i still have to get a roter and all that shit.

          So if i hooked that to my PS3 and my motem i can go online?

          Would i have to type anything in or can i just go on and play?

              If you have a dial-up connection, you are going to have problems playing online.
              If you have a broadband connection, you will need a router, a wireless connection, or you will have to unplug the cable from your PC and connect it to the PS3. If you have to "type anything" will depend on your type of connection. I can't answer better than that without more information on your specific internet connection.

                Ok i have made a account already.

                So i just need to buy the Cat5 cable hook up to my PS3 in the back and run to my motem and i got online? without going thought anything?

                    modem, not motem lol

                    and yes all you need to do is plug the LAN cable into the modem and the ps3 and you're good to go

                            cat5, lan, ethernet, they are all the same cable. It looks like a phone cord except the connector is wider
