i gotta a hard choice to make....

so as some may know right now i got my 91 accord dx has a ton of miles on it (235XX) and i love it.
the engine is getting tired.. realll tired.
i have to choices to make hope that you guys can help.

choice 1. Save money all winter, and spring, and buy a new nice honda once im 18, and hell with the cb7.

choice 2. SAve money all winter, and work on the cb7 a ton, even tho i already have a TON, and save upf or a h22 swap with a new trans and clutch.

Before all of you say 2, i will also need to find some one to install it for me, and i dont no what parts i will all need, or where i would buy it from?
and i wouldnt replace any seals, i just dont no how?

so what would i need to buy other than?
    -Swap from some website?
    -new trans
    -New clutch?
    -new axels???
    -new anythign else???
    wireing??
idk does anything not come with the swap?

    thanks

IF you go with the h22 swap. A lot of the stuff you have in your engine compartment will swap over to the h22. The trans will swap, same axles, wiring harness, the clutch *only if its relatively new, if not, get a new one* motor mounts. The only thing you'll need to add is, the wiring harness for VTEC, and a new ecu. Other than that, the swap is pretty straight forward.

Buy a newer car. The accord isn't going to be terribly trustworthy without a significant amount of money.

You're not JDM until you have a car built in ohio with tons of bolt ons from ebay.

All you have to do is like some other people on here have done. Have a "swap my motor" bbq at your house. Depending on where you live you should have some members on here close enough to help you out. Couldn't hurt to try.

I've heard mixed opinions on that place. You'll need to add in shipping to that too.

                    even this,
with shipping added, i could get a engine and trans shipped to my house for around 1500 bucks, with around 30K on each.
                    doesnt sound too bad?
                    any other sites to trust?

I'm really not too sure. I haven't ever had to buy an engine. I've just heard what other people have said so I don't have any first hand experience with any of them. Some people have gotten good motors from them and some have gotten them and they were broken. I have no clue how these people are either it's just another site to look at.

No. You still have a 235 thousand mile body, suspension, bearings, bushings transmission interior.

You just have a slightly less used (but still used none the less) motor that makes a pretty noise at 5200 rpm.

I got my engine from TigerJapanese, have no complaints, but, expect to replace some small stuff that may get broke in shipping. I paid 940 for my motor shipped to my front door.

The VTEC harness is something you can make yourself, shouldn't cost more than 10 dollars. You'll need 4 or 5 wires, depending on if you have the iab box or not

Funny, i would drive my car anywhere right now without a thought.
You can get an entire suspension bushing kit for $100 and thats a poly kit. Bearings? like wheel bearings? thats not horrible hard to change. a shop will press them on if you bring the hubs to them. transmissions can be near perfect if the owners were nice to them. Interior is easily re-upholstered or replaced and has nothing to do with the car besides comfort.

In reality, if you don't want to work on a car here and there, get a brand new hyundai accent for <10k and don't ever drive fast. Of you don't mind getting your hands dirty and don't want a car payment, fix your car until your income can get you a car you can't afford now. Just remember, any car you have will need work. would you rather have a car that you know nothing about and just fell out of warranty when it does or a car with a near 20k member community that will help you fix yours when something needs fixing?

Fuck, i couldn't hope to do more than an oil change alone until i found this site and started learning. Now im secure enough to try and build my own engine. and thats in less than a year and a half.
