someone stole the license plate off our camry and we didnt know until two days later the police called us and told us our "car" was illegally parked in the city.

We told them that our car is in front of our house
we shoulda went to go pick up the car, pay the fees and check for dead bodies or mounds of cash.

You use a razor blade to cut up the sticker. No one wants to peel off a bunch of small portions when they can take 1 whole sticker off of someone else's car.

I had to replace my reg sticker last year when someone stole my 2009 sticker. The replacement was $17 and I got mine at AAA.

Nope, the CA sticker just says the year and has a small serial number on it, but people just take it so that the cops will see the correct year. The stickers change color every year and have a large print of the year, so that is what most cops look for before they pull you over for expired registration. If the cop pulls you over with a stolen sticker they can check the serial number and see who it actually belongs to.

In Fl they started putting the matching plate number on your registration stickers which reduced the theft of the stickers.

they need to bring that idea to Ohio and every where else.

I like that razor blade idea.

That would require more work from the dmv, so they probably wouldn't do it. All they have now is 1 giant box where they scan the code and hand it to you when you pay.
