Plus to prove your point you post a video of an S2K that's been gutted + built with a race motor and suspension. Obviously if all S2Ks are like the one you posted then they will be a blast.

They are good cars, but the level of performance and lack of practicality really kill them for me.
i think your a pussy and just dont know how to drive, going a in a striaght line proves nothing. they should just take your d.i. away. you have no use for it.
    just go buy a buick

I've had them in the twisties and all that as well. My old roommate had one. It was a nice car, but engine-wise it really disappointed me. I don't know what all the rest of the stuff you're talking about is about.

Ok children. Lay off each other's balls.

The S2000 is a throwback to the old S500 and S600 of the 60s. That's the only reason why I can figure they crammed a small engine into their high priced sports car. Well, that, and the fact that Honda wants to say "Lookie! We made 240hp NA with a 2.0L 4 cylinder production motor!"... which, in itself, is very impressive!

Impractical? Sure. It's a sports car. Sports cars are not supposed to be practical. They're not meant for rain and snow. They're not meant to haul booger-eaters. They're not meant to do anything but connect the driver to the road in the purest fashion possible.

Now, is the S2000 the ultimate sports car? No. But for what it is, it's a very good one. It IS fairly slow, and against other sports cars and sporty cars in the same price range, it will usually fall short. Of course, the Z4 and Boxter in the video above are also fairly underpowered cars. I don't give the Z4 much credit at all, and the Boxter in base form is far slower than the S2000.

What the S2000 does offer is build quality, precision, status (even as a Honda, they are very well respected... I've never seen a Benz driver turn his nose up at an S2000)

I love them. Much like i love a CB.It's not fast unless YOU make it fast. I have seen turbo S2k's run sub 10's in the 1/4 with stock motors. I don't get why it's so hard for a lot of the people on THIS forum to understand thats it's not the car, but the person that puts what they want in the car.

Trust me, a worked F20c/f22C WILL give you a serious run for your money. you don't have to be impressed because stock one is probably faster than you.

A good one is still between 13k and 15k in most areas. My friend got a pretty beat one for not much less.

ive ridden in an s2k for 2 fairly long road trips, (8 hours each way to IA and a 9 hour round-trip blast down to arkansas for fun on twisty roads) and got the chance to drive 2 of them for a short while (totaling about 100 miles) and i have to say that i love them. they are the modern embodyment of the british sports car except they are actually reliable! they are around the same price as a miata (which i also have first-hand experience in) and in my mind the s2k wins hands down.

performance wise, there isnt many cars i'd want over an s2k. its light, agile, and quick. no its not incredibly fast but it will hit 152 with 2 people in the car (again, first-hand experience ). like many people have said, its not really about the straight line, its for when the road gets twisty and damn is it good there.

in my mind, it is one of the purest sports car you can get right now, aside from the offerings at lotus and aerial. it has great looks, very light weight (you can even get them with no radio or a/c), and goes like stink.

you can say you dont like them, but dont say they arent a sports car.
