i think everyone here should atleast know the risk in wanting or getting a honda especially in central fl or anywhere that there's a big tuner scene..just be willing to ex.put in garage,alarm..hell even put cameras outside your crib...always watch to see fi your being tailed for any reason...just precautions i take..hell i dont even like keeping my car parked at citywalk or downtown for long periods of time...and i dont even have all my mods installed...but just cause its dropped etc ppl take notice..

Man, I don't understand why people get so paranoid about getting their shit stolen. At the end of the day, if someone really wants to steal your shit they're going to take it.

Since 2005, I hardly ever lock my car, or even roll up my windows when I go to stores. I don't have an alarm. At one point I had a kill switch, but only because I thought it was awesome to have one. But I removed it.

I've had ALL my tuning equipment, camera, gf's laptop and random other shit in there and I've left my car unlocked with the windows rolled down in bad neighborhoods and nothing ever happens. I just cover some of the shit up with garbage or blankets and make it look as if I have nothing to steal.

THe ONE time they got me was on xmas 2008. They stole my stereo. If it hadn't been for my doors being unlocked, they would have probably broken my windows. I'd rather them steal shit without breaking windows to add to my cost. The best part of that, the asshole that stole it dropped a $50 bill right outside of my car, lol. I found it right before I found out my stereo was stolen so it was a bitter sweet moment.

Ppl will steal ur shit in NYC bro. On my block there was about a month where someone was breaking car windows and stealing whatever they could find inside. I live in a somewhat shitty nabe so it's not unreasonable to be a little paranoid... but that's not the fault of the site I guess

I do park on the street though.

it's probably more dangerous to buy and sell on this site than it is to have a MRT. with selling, you trade addresses and what not with strangers.

it's probably even more dangerous to go to local meets. i've seen people walking around at car meets taking pics of peoples wheels upclose and possibly their type of lug nuts and also their tags. eventhough tags are public, i know some certain people are capable of getting info from them.

i honestly hope there's low risk with a MRT. later.

The member rides should be public. The MR threads are a source of motivations for a lot of new members, including once-upon-a-time-myself. Just don't let very new members see where other members live. I am sure we can set that up somehow. Also, mandate license plates to be blanked out. That's all we can do.

I have been busy this whole week and missed this thread. Personally i think the Member's Ride forum should be open to everyone.

It should be a post at your own risk type of thing.

Also, the rules should be updated.
For example you can do a classic MRT (engine, exterior, interior ect)
or a new style which only includes your pictures...

I've never understood the idea of blocking your license plate...there are hundreds if not thousands around you each and every day...so what gives I still block mine just in case...but I've never understood WHY you SHOULD do it

on the street, you're just a car driving by.

On a website, you're a car with pictures of all your goodies, and probably a list... and it's a place where thieves look. There are ways of finding someone by their license plate.

To add on to what deev said, when someone drives by you, they're not gonna remember the plate number (unless they write it down). On the internet, you can go back to that pic as many times as you want without having to remember the number.

And as right now in the member ride section we have 9 members and 12 guest, I will feel muchmore safe if the MR thread has post count for you to view.
