I just heard from a guy that they make RWD conversion kits for the CRX.

I can't find any info on it, so he may have been BSing...

Not sure about "kits" but plenty of people have made the CRX AWD. I had the opportunity to tune one. It's fucking awesome in the snow.

I assume they are making use of Wagovan AWD parts?

I'm sure. The CRX is really just a Civic for the most part.

The guy described the kit in pretty good detail... I'll have to ask him next time I see him if it's legit, or if he was pulling my leg. I don't care much about Civics and the like, so I'm way out of touch with them.

The last one I saw used the original differential and axles supported by a small sub frame, and had the sprocket welded to it. then the bike transmission just went to the differential.

Looked like it worked pretty well. The dif was open to the elements, but it didnt seem to be an issue.

The engine wasw a CBR600 in a 3G Chevy sprint

Link that build thread from RHMT.. that thing was SRS BNS

Oh yeah .... 1G Camry is CHEAPER and still sues the S series engine. I had a 1G and bolted in a 5SFE from a 1992 Celica GT-S ..... just used a combination of the 2 sets of mounts and it fit in like it was supposed to be there. It also looks cooler and came with a digital dash.

The Celica suspention fit as well and make a pretty big difference. All I had to do was swap the upper strut mounts ... the bottoms and the length was perfect. The brakes looked like an easy upgrade too.

                  So there ya go.

                  1G Camry - $200
Celica wreck - $200 (<--- theres the engine, trans, seats, suspention and brakes)
Wiring for swap - you can do
                  3SGTE manifold - $65
                  JY Turbo - $100
                  JY SMIC - $40
JY BOV - get it with either the turbo or SMIC
                  AEM FIC - $350
                  Supra 440's - $80
charge pipes - $40 (<- just use exhaust pipes and reinforced rad hose for couplers from a truck place)

$1075 .... obviously Ive forgottern about some shit... but Im far enough under budget that you got some room to spend.

I would get a old nissan hardbody rwd truck with a 5spd. idk if they come with ka's or not. if you look hard around you could find a used sr20 on nissan forums and slap it in there. and drop the truck to the ground. thing will be fast as hell
                      miss my turbo cb7
moved onto volvos. dont know how that happened, just did

Those old Toyota motors have plenty of potential.

With some work, you could very easily put the MR2 engine in it. Turbo, supercharged, whatever.

My dad had a 5 speed 88 All Trac w/one of Sony's first CD radios. In a strange way I still wish we had that car knowing what I know now. It had a low/high speed diff that changed speeds with a button on the shift console. Bad ass

An LE V6 chassis w/a Celica All Trac drivetrain would own. Toyota Galant VR-4!!!! Do it!!!!
