There's a lot of good guns out there. Sig is in the upper class, Ruger in the lower.

If you're on a budget, sure the Ruger is a great deal. You won't find another weapon comparably priced with merits as good as the Ruger. It's a good bang-for-the-buck brand to go with if you just need a self defense gun.

If you want something more accurate and reliable with an elite track record, then stick with the Glock or the Sig. Nothing else in your list compares.


Oh, and $580 for a used Sig from a family member is too high. You could probably find a used sig on Backpage in your area for about that price, and that's from a complete stranger. If he were to give you the family member hookup, I'd expect you to pay around $400 for it.

Just learned one negative about the SR9. Apparantly the spring in the magazine is very stiff, and is difficult to load to max capacity... Not appealing since I am already the beanpole build. 6'1" and 130lbs.

its the same way with my 15 round mag in my glock

I would highly go for the Desert Eagle, but the best hand gun you can find is the "COLT 1911" best automatic handgun ever dude but you choice!!

sure, Colt 1911's are awesome guns, but everyone who knows nothing about guns synonymizes 1911's with Colt. There are TONS of other 1911's out there that are just asw good or BETTER than the Colt. Sig Sauer, Kimber, Springfield..... all far superior to the Colt.
