I just got scammed.......

Here is the story. Just went to lunch, went to my favorite Jamaican restaurant and grabbed some food. Driving out the plaza this whit dude(wigga looking) flagged me down driving a purple colored dodge caravan just I pull up beside him and he asked if I wanted to buy a home theatre system for a good price so i said ok, let see what he got(ive been looking for a home theatre for some time now). We pull over and i hopped out. He began to show 3 brand new boxes of Home theatres with the name of Divinci.

He explains he delivering these and they put one extra in his van so he was trying to sell it for some cash.
He showed me the invoices for the info on the 2 customers which he has to deliver to. He also pulled a magazine catalog to show me how much his Boss sell these for. The box and catalog shows a price of $1999.99. So he began to say he looking for half thatand i said fuck no, I only got $100. He said naw, thats way to low so I said cool ad got in my car and was about to leave then he s said make it $200 and we got a deal. He put in my car and followed me to the atm to get the cash.

I felt i got a good deal till my logical side woke up so i googled it on my phone to find a couple threads on the web about it being a scam. My heart huts because this was so well put together i feel stupid.

I hope it atleast plays semi ok so I didnt lose out completely.

Man. I hate those shitheads. Tried to scam me once, of course I'm an internet junkie so I know all about the vans with stereos scam. They kept telling me they were good stereos, and blah blah. I said I already have one, they tell me this one is better - I told them I'm not an idiot and there's no possible way the crap they're trying to sell me out of a van could possibly be better than what I have at home (I actually didn't have a home theater at the time).

Yea, im still asking myself that question. I blame it on my stupity and the economy. there used to be scam just like that where they show you like 3 or 4 units in boxes and pull them out to show you everything is there then they grab one of the un-opened boxes and throw in your car.. you get home and open it up to find bricks

I used to work in downtown charlotte and at least once a month there were young guys in a minivan selling home theatre systems. They said there UNCC students working wholesale. The stereo systems were garbage. the amplifier burns up ina couple weeks. ( i only know this cause my boss bought 2 of them for him and a friend ). So whenever i saw them trying to hustle their shit across from our shop at the gas station, i would go over there and tell the random gas pumper that they are a scam. i about had to use my pry bar on one of the douche bags one time... he said he'd be back with a 9 mill to bust a cap in my ass... lol so i told him my desert eagle stays locked and loaded in the top drawer of my toolbox.

That sucks bro... the 'white van' scam has been out there forever though. I read about it like a year ago!

Anyway, I see them all the time here in Miami hanging out near Best Buy's and whatnot. At one point, I actually made a deal with them and said I needed to go to the ATM. One guy stayed with the van, one guy rode with me to the ATM. I proceded to drive his ass straight to the Police Department. Of course he just got out and ran away, but it was still fun knowing he had a ways to walk - or at least had to make a phone call to his partner to come pick his ass up.

If you see them again, you know what to do.
