I checked out 16g and its like $40+ and the class 6 is like $80 LOL!

So ill stick with 8G if you say it runs smooth.

OK so i dl a ton of stuff incase sites go down or whatever.

So if im correct i have everything i need minus the 8g card and actual phone right?

Im getting the phone asap and i figured i should invest in a 16g sd card so it can run maybe faster or is 8 the max?

Also is the newvision the same thing as the sensing ui or whatever its called? It runs good with 3 partitions right?

And what features don't work once rooted that worked unrooted? Like what features(if any) do you lose by rooting and flashing to newvision? I thought i read blutooth and some other stuff?

i have to research tha apps2sd app. supposedly the drizzy rom comes with it built in and it transfers your apps when you reboot your phone but it hasnt worked for me. the tether app comes built in with new vision v2.8.


i believe new vision is the same as sense ui. i havent tried the sense ui but i think its built in new vision.

supposedly on a g1, ur allowed to run a 32gb max. but i just followed the directions on the how to's and an 8gb class 6 seems to work just fine. plus 8gb is alot of storage space and is more than enough. your only using about 608mb for ext2 and linux-swap. the rest is your storage space

um the only functions i have lost with this rom are a)the led light doesnt flash b)bluetooth doesnt work c) autorotate doesnt work on some apps i.e. messaging. but i heard u can use chompsms as a good substitute. d) the camera button doesnt work because the HTC HERO doesnt have a camera button. but there is a button on the screen to take pics so its A ok

i got a Transcend 8gb micro sd w/ sd adapter and memory card reader on ebay for 20$ shipped. before i had it , my fone lagged alot. i barely used it because it would keep shutting off after having alot of apps running. now that i use the 8gb i havent had 1 loading screen pop up at all and it hasnt shut off on me.

DONT DOWNLOAD APPS2SD2 WITH DRIZZY ROM!! .. i just read that it will brick your fone. it will only work with JF . ill keep ya updated on how to puts the apps on the sd . lemme keep playing around with the fone.

Ok so i got rid of the app2sd apk.

Another question i have is what is this i read about it like setting itself back to factory settings because of a rom image saved in the phone that your not suppose to remove?

Like once i have it set up there is no way of me accidently wiping it out or setting it back unless i choose to right?

hm i havent heard about this but i dont think so. unless yo go into recovery mode and setting it back it should stay on there. ive had it for 2 weeks and it hasnt set itself back.

Did you take a look at the one click method?

Do you think if i tried that i should be good? I want to basically flash it in one click and then install either 2.8 or the v3.

i havent used it so im not sure. but it looks like it flashes cynogenmod recovery image 1.3 .. and drizzys roms need 1.3 or 1.4 so it should work.

btw im getting mixd responses on the linux swap size for the sd card. evry1 is saying that 96mb is ideal so that it mimmics the ram on the htc hero. but others say that it gets very laggy over time. 2marro im going to try and do it all over again and use a 32mb swap and use v3.

If i wanted an iPhone to work on Tmobile would i have to buy a locked one or could i just go through AT&T and then unlock it myself

buy an iphone and have it unlocked for tmobile. theres a youtube video on how to do it. and then you can go on and jailbreak it and get cool apps too (no flash though )

okay so ive been a week with my rooted g1. have a 8gig with a 96mb linux swap and drizzy new vision 2.8 . well its been really laggy. i came to find out its due to the 96mb linux swap. for some reason after a while of use it gets slower and slower. and on top of that the new vision rom isnt the best. im going to repartition it to 32mb like its suppose to be and use the full v3 .

im thinking about using the champion v2 rom. i heard its the smoothest rom but 1. since its white some of the words are hard to see (for example the time and bottom buttons) and 2. some of the widgets dont work like the twitter and weather widgets.

ill keep ya guys posted on how it feels with the new partition and new rom

Hmmmmm ok well i was planning on using the drizzy 2.8 thats what i have dl.

Deff let me know what works and what doesn't. It kind of sucks that we have to do this shit to get the phone to work the way its suppose to be. I wish this phone was neutered from day one.

2.8 is good, it just lags alot . i read on forums that the full v3 is the smoothest one out there. it gets annoying when you have to make a phone call and it takes 4 minutes to do it, then u realize your calling the wrong person

i will reflash wit v3 tomorrow and let you know how it feels. and once the htc hero comes out in the states, tmobile should give an update for us . i heard it should be early next year

ediit*** btw that one click root i believe only works on the g1's. not on the htc magic (mytouch) . double check before you end up bricking your phone
