It's 100 degrees right now. Some of the hottest days ever in Seattle.

I just ripped out my A/C and cruise. Better looking engine bay that weighs less ftw.

True, I am that lazy. I'd rather have pwr steering though. Oh yeah and for the people using the excuse about it's hot, I don't have a/c and it gets around 100 and a little above during the summer.

I just like to say thanks for the perspective you all have added. The decision would be purely preference but I couldn't do w/o ac and ps is nice to have. Cruise control, well I get tire of moving it too. Thinking about relocating it or taking it out.
I just happened to stumble across this thread while looking for alternatives. You know the CC relocation or the removal thread.

Cruise control went out a long long long time ago, and power steering lines kept bursting a long long long time ago. I got the car, and after a while, pulled the cruise stuff out. AC works but leaks. Also, I think the AC clutch is /failing. Power steering pump was gone when I got the car, though most all of the lines are there (taped and sealed off). Hopefully I'll get it back working again. I give my wrists enough of a workout with computer, guitar and self loathing. Hah.

Yeah.... no. Let me rephrase that statement.

'Not to mention that its a damn 1991 accord. If I wanted a race car or a show car, I'd get a faster/better looking car.'

Your statement is relative. To you, the Accord might be an awesome project car, and your car certainly does look awesome. But to me, and 95-99% of Accord owners, my Accord is a DD and a cruiser.

To me, a CRX is a project car worthy of no A/C, CC, or amenities of any sort. I don't see much point in stripping out the few luxuries that the Accord has in order to make the car 'only' weigh 200 lbs more than a stock civic. Why not just keep the amenities and run a more appropriate auto-x/track car.

The mileage run I got, posted on my sig, was using A/C and in traffic.

                          well lets just say.......

power steering went out, cus i wanted more control of the car

a/c went out, cus i use it once in a while, and my dsm o2 housing was right where my a/c was. so boost over a/c......hmmmm..... ill take boost.

cruise control... well it was pointless since i never used it. and it was always in my way when im working on that side of the motor.

in n/a cars it doesnt matter if their in there or not. its the persons choice.

plus if i wanted a/c, cruise control, and power steering, id buy a acura

well to me. civics, crx's and tegs are for girls and pussys. like holy shit man half of the fucking tuner world all want civics and tegs and crxs. like dude there are better cars out there. the accord might be luxurious to some, but to me and most of the people on this forums its like a civic with better looks (im talking about the eg). sure its heavier, but it handles better, drives better, and for me, my cb got more attention on the streets than civics.

Using that logic, if you wanted boost, heavy steering, and a large engine bay, doesn't an Accord seem like the wrong place to start?

Cause the Accord you bought HAD a/c, cruise control, and power steering.

EDIT: just saw your last post.

I realize that some people don't want to own Civics because lots of other people do, although that doesn't really make sense to me. The pursuit of driving experience shouldn't be blindsided by what some other owner of some other Civic/CRX did to his car.

Regardless, I HIGHLY doubt that the 2750lb Accord, even trimmed down to 2600lb or whatever, will handle better than the 2100-2400lb EG civic.

Civics aside, if boost is the name of your game, along with engine bay room, wouldn't the 240sx better match your desires?

I have A/C,PS and CC in my car just in case if I ever decide to sell it, I don't have to go back and put it back in.
