Might be selling my CB ALREADY...

Guys this sucks I need some help.

Im hurting for money bad, and I think I have the answer but you all seem smarter than me so I'll get your input before I do anything.

My Accord... purchased for $600. Naturally, it had problems like you might expect a $600 car to.

I've got a little over a thousand tied up in it. I have:
    10th Anniversary rims
Falken Tires (less than 300 miles)
    Ractive coilovers
    New exhaust from cat back
    Replaced Hood
    New doorhandles on drivers door
    New shift knob
Used but working (a.k.a. new to me) power steering pump
Sony Xplod speakers (came with car, no headunit)
    Rust on pass side quarter
dents in drivers side quarter and one dent in the roof
    Clutch is EXCELLENT.
Brakes are a little weaker than my last one, but work fine in a panic stop, and don't scare me. Master cylinder might just need a little attention, IDK.
    New radiator.
    New grille.

Now it's too much though. The fuel tank is leaking through a small hose, easy fix, but I have to let a shop do it (I don't have a jack and can't get under it)

And it needs a new steering rack.

Half the interior was either stained, torn or burned, so it currently is without a back seat or side panels from the doors back to the trunk. However, I have everything but the rear seat and panels with armrests. And I could get them pretty easy.

To have the shop fix my PS is going to be around $400, and I don't have it.

Not only do I not have that money, I have to pay my $141 ticket this week, and $450 rent this week.

I'm trying desperately to sell the sub and amp in my truck, but then the subs voice coil went so it's now useless to me and anyone who might have wanted it. No one is biting on the amp either, and the ported box might as well be spider infested because no one wants it either.

I think my only option is to try to get $900 for my accord... Which I hate to do, I LOVE that car but I need the money bad...

Do I have any options I've overlooked? I can't sell the Kota, owe too much and it's too reliable to let go. No one will buy the 20's off it, I've been trying for months. All my Mustangs parts are gone, so I can't sell them anymore.

I really don't know where to go from here.

Do you not have the money needed for the ticket and rent?

I mean, you bought the CB as a project... if you have the money to do what you NEED to do, you don't NEED the CB right now. If you can get by, put off fixing until you can afford it.

If you have money coming in from work, then hold out... or borrow from your parents and pay them back when the money comes in. If you don't make enough to get by... find a better job, or another job!

Even if you sell the car, it's $900... and then that will be gone. You'll want another CB, or another SOMETHING... and it'll repeat. I say stick with the car you have, do what you can when you can.

Correct: Not enough money for my ticket and rent.

I COULD borrow from my parents, but shit, they supported me the last 18 years of my life, I want them to indulge in themselves in the first time in 21 years (My sister, too). And my dad just had his gallbladder removed, so I don't know if they are paying for that or if they even can help me.

And I'm applying like crazy, I can't seem to find a better job. The waterpark isn't bad, but the Kota sucks down so much gas driving 20 min there and 20 back, that between gas, food, rent and now tickets I can't do it.

It's funny how when I got my license, I drove like a fucking idiot and never got burned for it. Now I calmed down and I got a speeding ticket. And window tint, but that won't cost me anything.

Yeah, the only times I ever got snagged for speeding were in the bone stock CB, the GTP, and the Fit. Never once in the modified CB7. Perhaps I'm a bit more aware of it in the loud car. With the GTP, I really didn't realize I was going as fast as I was!

It sounds like you need to itemize ALL of your expenses, organize your income, make cuts where you can, and come up with a proper budget. You'll be amazed what you'll see when you lay it all out.

It sounds that you're living way too close to your means... which is a VERY bad thing.
When I was out of work for a month, I determined that I need to make about $30,000 a year to survive with all my expenses. That's not a lot, considering that I own a house with 2 mortgages, a car payment, and a number of other expenses. I make... well... more than that. Still, I try to maintain a low cost of living.

You need to budget what you make, and live accordingly. If you can't live comfortably on what you make, you need to make some changes. Make more money, or cut your expenses.

Hopefully, you can figure it out and save the CB7

              Let's see...

Back then, I lived with the rents, so I made myself keep 2000 of it.

              The rest went to:
Rims and tires for my dakota
              Lowered the truck
              Speakers
              borla exhaust (Flowmaster blows)

Then that 2000 got worn down, 1000 or so is in my accord, and the rest has gone to groceries. I've got roughly 700 right now... And around 600 is spent next week on rent and ticket...

I'm working on it. No more money on weed. No more eating out. No more cruising for fun in a truck that gets 10mpg (That was a fucking dumb thing to waste money on)

Is there someone you can talk to for these kind of things?

Someone on here I mean. I can provide numbers for how I'm living but I don't know what to do with them...

OH and it doesn't help that I was unaware of things BBT can charge you for.

They said I had free overdraft protection, so I assumed it was FREE. I get 6 auto overdraft protects a month, where it automatically pulls 100 from saving to checking, thus protecting me. BUT, My savings can only be drawn from 3 times a month so I got fucked in the ass by BB&T for 140 dollars... THAT is what made the difference between me making it ok this month or not.

My uninformed nature, that is. Not so much BBTs fault, I should have known.

You don't need to hire someone to do it for you. You certainly don't need to PAY someone to do it for you!

Plot out all your expenses. EVERYTHING that you spend money on every month... Rent, credit cards, insurance, any other bills... Then try to figure out roughly how much you spend on gas, food, entertainment, etc... Total it up, and see what you can cut. Be realistic. Like, don't say you can live on $20 a week for food.

Then toal up how much money you get in each paycheck. See how it all fits in. If your cost of living (the stuff you totalled up) is more than what you make, you have a problem. If your cost of living is more than 80% of what you make... you should try to fix that. You don't EVER want to live that close to your means. At the very least, keep the forseeable money going out under 80% of what you make. If possible include a buffer for unexpected expenses (repairs, tickets, etc...) in that amount.

If you can't strip your expenses down enough... it's time to find a better job, or another job. You're not a kid anymore.

I can't move back, I already signed a lease and the only way out is to pay more money.

I KNOW i can do this, I just need to prioritize. The main reason for buying the honda was to get the truck off the road. I figured spending the money now means I can start making it back by buying less gas, but earning the same money.

However I think I got the accord to late, and now I don't have the time to earn back what I've spent to get the car up and running, if that makes sense how I'm saying it.
