Is it me, or is Steve Martin not funny in any capacity

    I've seen his stand up

I've seen a few of his movies

What's the appeal? He seems like a normal dude imitating comedians

He's funny, and is a good actor. Case in point: tranquilizer dart scene in Old School.

My Will Ferrell is your Steve Martin.

The crazy Belushi, Eddie Murphy, those dudes were funny. I don't know about the rest.

I dunno...some people just dont laugh at what other people do.

"Funny" is a matter of opinion. Everyone has different opinions of who and what's funny. It happens.

Steve Martin has a subtle brand of comedy. The man is extremely intelligent, and a perfectionist... so the chances are that everything he says and does are so well thuoght out that people miss 90% of what he intends to be funny.

              Watch Roxanne.

That movie was awesome. I believe the 3 minute rand about dicknose jokes was all improvised.

I always liked Steve Martin and Dan Akyroyd and John Candy. I miss John Candy like hell.

Used to love their movies. Tom Hanks too.

I didn't like the jerky Tom Hanks. Big was the only pre-Gump movie of his that I really liked. Once he did Forrest Gump, his characters became more dynamic, I feel.
