Tobacco doesn't have anything inherently wrong with it, that MJ also doesn't. If TB should be illegal, so should MJ. Smoking shit is bad for your health. Period. Medically, there is no significant basis for support of legalized MJ because they aren't allowed to research it further, and the "known" benefits don't currently have much scientific support. Most doctors don't even want to legalize it, they want to RESEARCH it, and there is a significant difference.
