    street racing gone bad!!!!!

Childrey91 was telling me about this morning about this but hadn't seen it on the news, but found the story on the internet. i pray for all those affected by this event.

Maryland State Police say two people were killed and two others seriously injured in an early morning crash in Baltimore County.

According to police, the victims were stopped along the right shoulder of Interstate 70 near the Park and Ride, when they were struck by a car.

The driver of that vehicle has been identified as Donniel Raeburn, 26, of Pikesville. He was flown to Shock Trauma and is currently listed in critical condition.

Police have identified the deceased as Mary-Kathryn Michele Abernathy, 21, of Columbia and Jonathan Robert Henderson, 20, of La Plata. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Paul Allen Duffy, 22, of Elkridge, was taken to Shock Trauma with serious injuries.

Witnesses at the scene told investigators that they had gathered in the area to witness drag racing. Police are working to determine whether Raeburn was drag racing prior to the crash.

Myranda Stephens will have more on this developing story tonight on Fox 45 News At Ten.

shit happens indeed. but it's never the assholes that do the shit that get the ass end of it.

This is why people should keep it on the track. $25-$50 to run all night at most strips.

Were the "victims" in their car(s) or were they standing on the shoulder of the Interstate? Interstate 70 in a busy and dangerous road here in Kansas and Missouri I would think it would be just as bad, if not worse in Maryland.

i'm assuming they were outside of their vehicle on the shoulder, for whatever reason one would pull a car to the shoulder.

and yes, i70 is pretty busy over here.

however, if this is where i think it is, right by the HUGE park'n'ride lot close to rt40 - the one where the lanes are divided by the park'n'ride and traffic is merged into a single lane with barely any shoulder... then yes. sadly, i can see someone getting hit on the shoulder. in combination with the little space and dim lighting.
                My pictures/photos will return soon...

the two that died i believe were on the shoulder the other two victims were in the car that caused it i believe. just saw on the news it was a chevy impala that lost control and hit a parked chevy cavalier that killed a 21 year old girl and her 20 year old boyfriend instantly.
