Im glad pittsburg won the cup this year.....I dont particularily care for the team much.....but I dont like seeing teams win over and over.....plus Im a leafs fan so watching detroit lift the cup doesnt work for me lol

Matt Cooke is kinda my cousin (hes married to my cousins husbands sister or something lol)....so hopefully I get invited to his cup party lol....On a personal level I think the guys a douche.....but all will be forgiven if i get to touch the cup haha

I was at the bar with my drummer watching the game (well, he was more into that game... I was watching the Phillies game...) He was rooting for Pittsburg as well, so they got my vote too. Glad they won!

I need to start following hockey. I've always liked it, but never watched it enough to understand it.

Im a bit biased....but hockey is the best sport to watch imo....its quick paced and it offers all the best parts from all the other major sports.....your a smart guy so if you watch a few games im sure youd pick up on the majority of the rules fairly quickly

I agree.....Im soo glad he won.....Hes been a favourite of mine since the 04 world juniors.....when he gave the puck to an american player (i wanna say zach parise) and canada lost the gold medal cuz of it.....I felt so bad for him then....Im glad he kinda redeemed himself now

Also I wanna say Crosbys a pussy.....A great player....but a pussy none the less.....If I was in his position there would be NOTHING that would keep me off the ice in the third period of game seven of the stanley cup final

I cant really relate to the other thing though....on sports networks up here there is usally atleast 15-20 min of only hockey talk....even on off days....plus I grew up watching and playing hockey....its like second nature to me lol

I remember when I went down to florida in grade 10 I tried to get some hockey scores by watching ESPN and they showed nothing at all.....I wasnt exactly surprised.....but I thought thered a little bit about hockey

Yeah, I guess your immersion in hockey is like mine in baseball and football. The world revolves around those sports here. 8 out of 10 hats on peoples' heads are Phillies caps. There are RVs painted green with the Eagles logo on them (literally... I can think of at least 4 in a 10 mile radius!)

However, I know at least 2 people (girls, no less) that have Flyers tattoos... so those that are fans are REAL fans!

I think Crosby would have played if he could, he took a shift after he was hit, but he couldn't continue and in an interview after the game he seemed really upset because of the injury, so I am assuming that it is a serious injury. Anyway it was a great series and a great playoff's

Im not saying he wasnt hurt.....Im just saying that if I was in his position I woulda have played.....He could obviously still skate....Which if that were me that would mean I could still play....whether I was in pain or not....Remember Yzerman back in the 02 playoffs....he played on 1 knee the entire time.

I bet the coach told him to sit, is it worth risking a further injury especially since it is Crosby? He is the poster boy of the league and just imagine if he did play and was hurt even more...coach probably wouldnt have his job anymore...Yzerman was in the later stages of his career and I guess he felt it was o.k for him to play...he probably had more say in the matter than Bowman
