You can use your boost sim card in any "I" series nextel/boost phone, even on the blackberry 8350I. As far as texting goes, when texting someone with a different carrier (ex: verizon, at&t) it does take some time for the recipient to recieve it, but if you insert a pic to the message it will go immiediately.

I think the wife and I are switching to the boost $50 plan. We've been with Revol (I think it's Cricket in other parts of the country) since they started up in Ohio, Less than $50 a month for unlimited everything, and lately we've been not getting calls, texts take hours to come through, and this morning, I go to the browser and my phone says I don' t have web browsing in my calling plan. I call Revol, they tell me that the plan my wife and I are in doesn't have web. I said, "I've had this plan for over three years, since you first started, how can I suddenly not have web?" She tries to tell me that we only had it because of a computer glitch that gave everyone web access for the last two years. I told her, when I first got an account with you, the company only offered one plan and it was EVERYTHING for $49.00." "No sir, You're on our $47 plan, we've never had a $49 plan until now. If you'd like, I can upgrade you to the $49 plan that includes web." I told her, no thanks, the web on their system isn't fast enough to be worth paying extra for, I'll be taking my loyalty and my wife's loyalty to Boost.

Yeah, boost mobile is useless unless you have the unlimited plan.
The only nextel phone that wont work on Boost is the 88XX Curve.
Boost plans to release one of their own in the coming months, but its going to be expensive.
I had an i860 for a while on Boost.

1 piece of advise with boost mobile. I once had their $50 unlimited plan a few year back, they called it "the godfather plan". I had it for about 2 years. After 2 years I began having some issues with the service, when I would call customer service, they would try to talk me out of my contract for a higher priced plan for the same service($70). I would decline everytime. Now I had my plan linked to my bank account. The monthly service charge was charged to my bank account. Well the beginning of the month comes and the whole day I didn't recieve a phone call, text or walkie talkie call from anyone. So I go to make a call and my service is disconnected. I called customer service, and they tell me "your service was disconnected because you didn't have the funds available in your account". I replied "bullshit, that account always has a minimum of $2500.00 at any given time!". I called the bank and asked about my account. The told me there is no problem with it. I asked why the transaction was declined. They looked into it and told me "no transaction to my account had attempted by boost.". I called customer service back and demanded they restore my account. They declined and still tried to sell me the $70 unlimited plan. I told them where the could stick their plan. I later found out they did the same thing to several other people with the same plan I had, and told them the same bullshit about no having funds available in their accounts.Last edited by 4U2H8ME; 06-10-2009, 04:46 PM.
